Lol... My 360 is an expensive DVD player that plays... Nothing! Microsoft is consistently selling inferior broken down products. Vista and the 360 for example. They make there living now off of there reputation; because of what they accomplished in the past...
No games? Every system starts out with a small library, so did the Xbox. They should of delayed its release until the product was working properly but they wanted to make sure they got a share of the market and they knew people would dump there cash into a next generation system and they would be stuck with it. Not everyone buys all the systems. They buy the XBox because it was out first and then because if you compare the prices (PS3 vs 360), the 360 was cheaper.
Besids, it has tons of games. It is backwards compatible to a library of thousands and thousands of games. Including ALL the best RPGs. RPGs are what I play. Best bang for your buck, tons of replay value. The second best system for RPGs is the SNES imo... PS has all the rest. I don't think I have heard of any 360 onry game that makes me say "Damn I gotta buy a 360 just to play that!". The few games that did catch my eye ended up sucking pretty bad...
Anyways... Lol this makes me laugh because it makes me think of the people who think Sega was better than Nintendo... What it is is just blind faith. Its what you spent your money and what you have and what you currently enjoy... So you defend it... I have owned almost every single system since NES and played them all with an open mind... Consoles with FF and RPGs are always the ones I fell in love with the most. If for some reason other systems picked up these games... I may have felt differently..

well my opinion is this i had a ps1 way back when it was released it was awesome also had an n64 it was awesome. stepp up next gen i have a game cube. had a ps2 then and then got xbox. truth be told i bought the xbox for one game and waited 5 years for it which sucked. anyway im not a fan boy never have been on either console but my honest opinion is xbox have really learned from past mixtakes. yes they might not have the most amazing games out there or that many rpg's which i love, but they have produced one off the finest consoles around at the moment. next to the wii....
dont get me wrong ps3 looks great it does but i wont buy it as i dont see they point in paying 600+ euro for a console that is struggling in the market at the moment fair enough it will do well when it finds its feet again. but i think by the time it does it be to late.
the funny thing is the consoled bombed in the states and it was saved by the european market most notably the irish market. u can still bearly get your hands on it over here. not that i want to.
i really think at the moment you are buying the most expensive dvd player on the market. dont get me wrong i not a fanboy in any stretch. i just think xbox is far superior to ps3 and will i got funny feeling it stay that way.
oh yea out off all my consoles that i owned i only have the game cube left it rocks never did that well over here but it awesome.
titanx as your comment on the controllers i think th e xbox conrtoller is a lot better then your ps ones. you dont like em casue so used to playing the ps2 lol. i think the thump sticks are lot better on it and more responsive as well. dont have to push so far to move or turn a corner lol

It is very hard for me to accept the 360 as an advanced piece of machinery... It doesn't work. I only used it for FFXI and then one day it would no longer turn on. I played FF mainly on PC and used the 360 to PL myself... So it didn't see that much action. I paid roughly 500 bucks (I get 20% off most of my electronics these days) for a system that couldn't tough a couple of years. This has never happened to any system I have ever owned. I totally agree that the PS3 is really expensive right now. The best value/$ is the Wii. But guess what, the 360s starting price was roughly the same as the PS3. Since the PS2, they all break into the market at roughly the same price. You need to allow the system to have it's time on the market, just like the 360. With time it's library of games will grow and the price will drop, just like the 360... Sony gets all the best games. It's what they do. I didn't mention controllers (I dont think) but since you did The 360 controllers and Wii controllers suck mostly because they are white colored... Not only am I constantly cleaning them, I am constantly cleaning my PS ones as well because I figure they are dirty but I just cant see it... I feel like the 360 is an expensive DVD player as well. The difference is they have been on the market forever... Give it some time... Sony and Apple will continue to topple Microsoft. I think you said you like RPGs... You should get a PS3 then... Almost all the RPGs we play come from Japan. Idk... 360 is for like shooters and online shooters. Not my cup of tea PS: I'm not even familiar with the term fanboy. Mark. Every console in the last 20 years has had issues. I won't lie, the 360 has had them worse than any others I've seen... but the PS3 is not without faults when it comes to hardware failures, a quick google search will show you what I mean. Sony is hardly a saint. Remember the mass failures for the PS2 laser assembly that ended up affecting 80% of original consoles after 1-2 years? Conveniently - just after the warranty died. If I have to give anyone props here - it's Nintendo. They may not know how to make cutting edge hardware, but they build the most reliable consoles I've seen.
As for blind faith - I'm sorry Mark, you are gravely misinformed. It took me two years to decide on purchasing a 360. You know what an analytical person I am - I went over the pros and cons of the different systems with a fine toothed comb. Eventually, I chose the 360 - not out of fanboyish spite, but because the console had the most fun games.
The backwards compatability for PS3 is completely ineffective, and there's a very, very simple reason for it.
If you want to play PS1/2 games - you need to go and buy a PS2 unless you have one of the original PS3 consoles. Why? It's very simple.
1. Sony released the PS3 with full hardware backwards compatability.
2. Sony removed hardware support for backwards compatability, citing cost as the problem.
3. Sony implemented software support for backwards compatability.
4. Now, Sony is phasing out software support.
5. Sony opens their version of the marketplace - which re-sells original PSone/2 games to console users who can't run their own legal copies.
So I get a good laugh every time someone cites backwards compatability as the main reason PS3 trumps 360. The bottom line is that if you want to play your old games in the next year or two, you're going to need to buy an actual PS2. That or re-buy half of them.
Berating a console because of the color is a little irrelevant, don't you think? White vs. Black... is completely a personal design choice. Personally, I agree with you. Black is sexy. But I wasn't going to pay for the elite version of the 360 when I don't have an HDMI setup just so I could have a black console. At least they give the option.
As for the 360 not working... I defer judgement. Supposedly, they fixed the red ring issue. Personally, I'm skeptical... so I bought a 3 year replacement warranty for 2 bucks. We'll see how it's doing in a year or so.

mm tyhe color issue lol if its that bad titanx and you are worried about the constant cleaning buy a black elite xbox 360 you wont have to clean it as much lol.
sad thing is this debate goin to go on and on and on untill the next gen consoles come out.
also think its unfair to say nintendo arent cutting edge lol considering they have released the wii and basicly changed the why some games are played. did did the mighty sony or xbox come up with it no. hehe which is even better casue if they did you would be paying through the nose for it.
so rock on nintendo keep them coming woohoooo

I saw the trailer..it look pretty interesting..now to wait for Dag to pay for my PS3 >.>;
For console war i think Sony is holding the dominant area. I find the lack interesting game to play on the 360 though(the lost odysseys seem pretty interesting)
