Yea we have been patiently waiting for more news lol. Were not sure if its going to be FFXI part 2, Final Fantasy 14 Online, or not Final Fantasy at all.
We do know it will be multiplatform, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC which is nice.
We do know that Sage Sundi (spelling?) and the other FFXI crew are working on this game.
We do know it will be ready in 2009.
We do know it will be using the White Engine which is the same engine made to program FFXIII and FFXIII Versus.

For me to even consider there'd have to be US servers. Memories of nub japanese players talking shit like (I don't have anything to give you)...I'm not going to deal with that ever again.

Its very possible. SE has made mention of its western focus with gaming. They have all but conceeded that the western market is the largest and most important. They also promise simultaneous releases from here on out. I've no problem with being on the same server as other foreigners myself honestly. I've met extremely nice Japanese players and extremely rude ones...same for Americans honestly.

God its pretty. I can't wait the more and more I think about it and look at those pictures. My only hope is that they've changed gameplay to keep up with the standards of MMOs at least and maybe try to be a little bit innovative.

Ì can see where Locke is coming from. There's nothing really gained from mixing the servers save for 24/7 activity. I don't regret it in FF at all -- it was an amazing experience. And it wouldn't be game-breaking to me, ie: if a game didn't have it again, cool, if it did - no matter.
In WoW though and most other MMOs, it is nice not to have that social pressure. Though I guess having had the shoe on the other foot has values of its own as far as Ethics and life-experience go, lol.

I've no problem with being on the same server as other foreigners myself honestly. I've met extremely nice Japanese players and extremely rude ones...same for Americans honestly. I had a lot of help from JP players in the early going, and was thankful for it and stuck up for them. But as time went on their attitudes seemed to only get worse. Saw more "J's" in search instead of less, etc. There was also SE lying about the latency issues with claiming, and I could go on. I don't have any interest in dealing with that again. NA servers, please.

Yea I've no doubt the claiming issue. Although I was a ranger and only had shadowbind claiming abilities lol.
I also agree that JP attitude got worse as time went on.....and in no way do I claim them to be more noble etc...but I do blame most of the dumbfuck American/Canadian/Europeans for causing them to be outstandish.
I've had JP not invite me to parties....I've had Americans boot me from party, MPK me, steal my mobs, party on top of me, etc.
But I share Jonathon's opinion...I wont' be hurt if they aren't on the server....cool if they are. Sometimes when you play off hours they were nice to have around though. I enjoyed my early morning Valkrum Dunes parties with the JP.

I'd prefer overcrowding to no people. That's far and away the number one reason to combine servers. It would make economic sense for SE as well, since the peak server load would be more spread out over a few time periods, allowing for more players on one server. Also, just think of the people you've met in EO who weren't from NA. $10 says it's not ready in 2009 though
