So....how much money is in the bank? Haha... WoW isn't full of fail programming. We actually have a guild bank. Everyone can see the balance and at least see all of the items that the guild bank contains. Everyone has access to everything except for the last tab (the bank has 6 tabs), you request it and we get it for you. I don't miss the gameplay of ffxi, but I miss the drama. You guys don't seem to get much drama here in WoWland. Isn't anyone plotting an overthrow of the guild? Not one person is ambitious enough to take the cream of the crop from this guild and venture out on their own to make a name for themselves? I'm sure Tempus's overbearing nature has worn thin with at least a few of you. C'mon people, rise up and be recognized for the effort you put forth! I'm guessing that WoW doesn't have the same e-peen factor, since through instancing you're not in direct competition with other guilds, so you don't build up the hatred for other guilds like you do in FFXI. And that's a damn shame. I for one do not miss the drama. I miss over coming the FFXI drama but not the actual drama. It's fun when your brother gets kicked from a guild and you start a new one and it's a success. It's fun when you go from social to end game. It's fun to have a guild with 100+ people on the points list. It's fun to be hated by complete fucking strangers based solely on your success. It's fun when the people you are running Dynamis with get and ego and you decide to do it on your own. I could go on and on... What's not fun? The world greatest ideas combined with the shittiest programming. FF No guild bank. No guild ranks. No officer channel. Disbanding an alliance or everyone passing on an item results in the loss of said item (Poof, it disappears, no one gets it!). Waiting for retards to pass/lot. Every single area has the potential for tons of aggro but you will NOT be able to solo the aggro. Inability to solo period. I was a fucking 75 WHM and BLM and it takes forever to kill mobs 20 levels under me? Fucktarded, I'm sorry. Constantly losing XP makes it so that YOU have to XP. Worst PvP system I have ever played. Ridiculous travel times!! No mounts (I think they added summonable Chocobos, still....). 15 mins waiting for the ?? to repop?! When you do kill something in Dynamis, Sky, Limbus, forced pop... You will walk away with 1, maybe 2 high end desired items. Where as here... It's more like 4-5. FF has no Armory. No progression sites. No thotbott. SE does not listen to its players at all. Where as Blizz has forums discussing everything all the time. Constantly asking for feedback and actually implementing the feasible ideas. The basis of SE programming is: "what can we do to make this take them longer? They will never be able to walk away from FF now? I mean who would after dedicating so much time?" Harder? Sure I guess FF is harder. But it just all seems like a huge time sink. You spend less time struggling and fighting in WoW and more time just playing and enjoying the game... EVERYTHING is in favor of having a happy healthy guild in WoW. The encounters are instanced. Meaning it's private. If you fail miserably or are an incredible success, chances are no but your guildmates will be around. More control over the loot system. Jesus... I almost forgot. FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE UI!It really hurts to say it... But when it comes to FF online. FF stands for fucking fail... This is the only game, where a bunch of scrubs can show up as level ones, on a low pop server (especially horde side) and make a kick ass raiding guild out of it. We are ranked 13th officially, more like 11th because two of those guilds disbanded recently... Not too shabby imo... The biggest difference so far in WoW is the people. We let EO FF get a bit too big I think. Which just results in a lot of unhappy people. Members need attention I guess or a spot where they feel they are welcome and needed, etc... We have a ton of great officers/advisors here (no slam on you guys, you guys are awesome too) and a great supporting cast. Drama and conflict has been really low... People are just easy going and easy to get along with... Anyways. <3 EO and Orphans old and new... </3 SE for ruining what was supposed to be the best MMO ever.

People change guilds like `[insert simile here] which sometimes results in.. unfriendliness But the real reason I'd say there's less drama is because people can just run away from it by changing their name or transferring servers+changing names, or re-roll another character since it's not too hard to get to 70. All in all your guild, character and reputation are just so fickle compared to how it was in FF Of course that's another thing. SE never intended for linkshells to become guilds. Just disposable communication devices (I call bs but w/e)... So you could shell hop like a little whore whenever you were feeling emo... Here it is you are in or you are out. No slinking in and out... Lol... No /sea all linkshell every 5 mins. In WoW. You hear a sound effect when someone logs on/off... Here. People actually want to raid. Probably because they got a good chance of getting a drop. Especially if they just joined. We use an epgp system, it kicks ass! In FF, we had to make rules to make members attend the same shitty boss fights over and over and over... ADD MORE FORCED POPS! Make sky bigger, do something for Christs sake... Anyways, I am going to shut up now...

AND on the subject of guild banks. There is a log as well. It tracks like the last 25 movements per tab...
Man I could go on forever lol...

Here would be my conditions (I posted this in a thread on my site not too long ago):
- NA servers, located in the states. JP = No Thanks. That probably rules them out already.
- No retarded update process that takes forever, fails repeatedly, etc.
- No stupid loot scheme with 20+ hour spawns, horrible itemization, etc.
- More interactivity and natural flow within the game world.
- Good PVP
- The game shouldn't be such that RMT can ruin my gaming experience.
Funny how the six main things FFXI did wrong, WoW does right.

What is your site?
- Servers dont' matter to me
- I'd prefer a more streamlined update process as well.
- I enjoyed some spawn times.
- Not sure what you mean but it sounds like a good thing
- Never liked PVP
- Agreed.

Everyone has access to everything except for the last tab (the bank has 6 tabs), you request it and we get it for you. So he's hiding it all in the 6th tab! You can't fool us, or our overbearing, power-hungry, ball-wrenching girlfriends. I for one do not miss the drama. But without drama, how do you make breakdown posts like this one? What is there to spam your board with? I was a fucking 75 WHM and BLM and it takes forever to kill mobs 20 levels under me? Fucktarded BLM solo's IT's for xp lvl 20-75 these days. (Well, those days, I haven't played in a year) </3 SE for ruining what was supposed to be the best MMO ever. Most of the points you make are pretty valid. And I'm sure SE is taking them all into consideration for the next MMO they release. They've basically used this MMO as a testing round, making it easier and easier as they go along. That, along with the input from WoW -should- make for an even better experience the next time through. They got much more responsive to player concerns as time went on, as well. Though still probably not up to blizzard standards. What FFXI did best, I believe, was force you into a system where even if you were an introvert, you would end up meeting a lot of people. From there, you would likely fit in with some of them and form friendships that transcended the game. WoW forces parties, but only in end-game, if I understand it right. At that point, you're looking at a heavy commitment. Besides, if everything was killed solo, who would be there to ogle my legs? PS. I've enjoyed this thread. Sometimes we run short of topics on our own board, with all of us just returning to normal, boring lives for the most part. If you want us to stop cluttering your board, though, just say the word.

www.eternaldarknessls.comI made the site in November '03 for my first LS. A few of us keep in touch over there, the original officers - Kevorkean (founder), Stahn, Pogo, Bravo, and a few others from the early days; Cydian, Kalvatar...Xerlic, Daeka and Mixia show up from time to time as well. I didn't think I'd have any reason to keep the site up after the shell broke in mid '04, but as long as people post it's worth the 9 bucks a month and occasional php nuke patches. BTW, here is Markus's WoW character:

Lol... That is not my toon... You guys are allowed to post here as much as you like... Speaking of over bearing g/f's and banks... They all of a sudden made part of their forums public, pretty interesting reads... WoW is not easier than FF. Some aspects are for sure. End game is where it's at. WoW end game > FF end game. Everyone gets to be involved. Boss fights makes everyone move around and pay attention and play different roles. It really is a blast... In FF, how many times did we wipe or fail? Idk, 1 Kirin, 1 Byakko. We had an amazing Dynamis record... In WoW, the encounters are pretty tricky, so you kind of expect to wipe sometimes. Anyways, your trailer didn't play I'm interested in their game but not until I'm done pwning here... WoW seriously fucking owns imo... Yes, yes... I Love The Dark Side... The most important thing to me, what I get the most pleasure out of is seeing [EO] do well. We are doing alright atm imo ^^ We need a new kill though!

Seems like it takes the value out of those really super hard to get items. Remember the first person you saw running around Jeuno with a Relic weapon? Remember the first person you saw running around with full AFv2? How about in WoW? ;-) I agree it takes the headache out of it, seems it would also take the value out. If everyone owned a McLaren, noone would want to drive one.

If everyone owned a McLaren, noone would want to drive one. There are uber rare items, such as the Warglaives. They're a pair of swords that are insanely better than any other Rogue weapon. They're also a 5%ish drop off the last boss of the Burning Crusade expansion. I've only seen one Warglaive - a Rogue had one in PVP. That was probably 4-5 months ago, and he still doesn't have the second.

For what it's worth: New Notorious Monsters (06/04/2008) New Notorious Monsters (NMs) will be added to areas introduced in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack in the forthcoming version update, with simplified access to their battlefields. A Word from the Development Team NM battles have been one of the most popular elements of FFXI since its launch. Nothing stirs the adventurer's soul quite the same way as cooperating with dependable comrades to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, with rare equipment drops being the very tasty icing on the cake. Thus far, however, getting the chance to battle NMs has been almost as difficult a task as fighting the creatures themselves. One often needed a lot of time and plenty more luck to successfully arrange an encounter with the creatures. In light of the ever-increasing number of fan requests for more opportunities to do battle against powerful monsters and reap the rewards, the development team has decided to implement some changes to make the excitement of NMs—even those of the same caliber as particularly infamous varieties inhabiting Tu'Lia and Al'Taieu—more accessible to all. Overview of the New System Carrying out requests from a certain NPC will earn you points which, when accumulated, can be exchanged for NM trigger items. The cost of these triggers will fluctuate based on the corresponding NM's difficulty level and popularity among adventurers. A limit will also be imposed on the number of points that can be earned in one Vana'dielian day (one Earth hour). Even with the above conditions in place, obtaining triggers under this new system should be relatively pain-free, especially when compared to fulfilling the elaborate requirements of some existing NM battles. *Please note that this point system is applicable only to select new NMs scheduled to appear from the June version update. In order to maximize flexibility in participant numbers, in most cases the target to which you trade triggers in order to gain entry into battlefields will be located in field areas. Rewards Over fifty new types of equipment will be made available as exclusive drops for defeating these new NMs. Here are just a few samples to whet your ravenous adventurer's appetite: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I copied it from here: wiki.bluegartrls.com/New_Notorious_Monsters_%2806/04/2008%29
