Well here is some FFXIII news...... Development for DQ9 hit some road blocks which inevitably will delay FFXIII a little longer at least for Japan......way to go assholes......its a damned DS game... How does DQ9 hit a road block when no DQ game has done anything different for 20 years? Square Enix Holdings Co. fell to the lowest in almost six years in Tokyo trading after the company cut its annual profit forecast 63 percent, saying the newest installment of its “Dragon Quest” video game will be delayed. 63% is a lot. They take too long to complete their games. I really doubt we'll see FFXIII stateside by March 2010.

I hate the idea of games with a 'mode' For some games it works out nicely, but for most games I only want to beat it once. Generally the only difference between difficulty modes is your offense and your defense stats are changed. You do less damage and take more damage so you just have to be more careful. The last time I replayed a game on hard was the first God of War.

Not really. Nearly all of the optional "challenge" bosses in FFVII become accessible only very late into the campaign, like the end of the second disk or very beginning of the third. At this point, the only remaining node of the story campaign is the actual fight against Sephiroth, and the party is left to explore the rest of the world at their leisure. FFXII's content essentially "comes and gos," starting at a very early point in the story. While most of the content may remain accessible towards the end of the game, it is then tuned far too "low" to actually be a challenge at that point, meaning that it should ideally be tackled at some point near when it first becomes available. I get what you're trying to say, but there are two basic considerations for side-quest difficulty. First is the level range of the content. If you are at a part in the story where your characters should be, say, level 20 - adjusting the content so it requires you to be level 40 is probably not a good idea. By the same token, if you do adjust it for level 40, when you make it available can have just as much of an impact. This is my biggest problem with FFXII. Simply tweaking when the content is available would have fixed most of this problem without any need to adjust the content itself. Regardless, it was a good game. I just feel that it didn't live up to its potential, since some tweaks in pacing of the content (and item/license board system) could have made what was already a good game into something that had a lot more lasting appeal. It also doesn't address how entire classes of items are utterly useless, the poor layout of the license grid, the poor balance of license grid components against each-other, the poor implementation of offensive magic, and a host of other issues I had with it. All of these factors combined add up to some fairly serious problems. Is the game still playable? Absolutely. It ruined a significant portion of the experience for me, however. I agree with a lot of your complaints about the game. I wish normal mode was more challenging. I didn't care for the license grid (I used a FAQ instead of mapping the grid out myself and having to reset the game - what a tedious and boring idea), and for the most part offensive magic and non-heavy armor were a complete waste. SE has a knack for useless jobs (lol DRK). My biggest complaint was the lack of character development. But like I said earlier, I thought it was supposed to be more of a tactical game with the primary focus on the hunts and summons and such.

WAY TO DERAIL THE THREAD GUYS! GAWD! I know. Didn't you miss me? As for FFXIII being delayed, I'll believe the stateside release date that they set when I see it on store shelves. I'd rather it come out in 2011 and be in a complete state.

I totally agree with this. TBH I was not too fond of any of SE's new ways to get your armor and spells or w/e. I much rather do it the old school way...you reached lv 20....you learn Cure 3 or w/e. Also, I think the reason offensive magic sucks in XII is because the BLM has been dominating damage dealing since the begining of days in FF. I dont think there was one game where the blm wasn't a powerhouse. Hell even online if you couldn't beat it.....throw more blm's at it

* In the game, any summon can transform. * The driving mode with Shiva is pretty much like an action game. Use the sticks to move around freely, the buttons to attack. * Wanna know what Odin, Lightning’s summon, transform into? Tough, it’s a secret * The crystals involving Snow and Lightning? Snow’s is shaped in the form of a heart, Lightning’s is a rose. * Know that kid who was arguing with Snow during the E3 trailer He’s half the age of Snow, more info will be revealed on him in the summer. * Vanille’s i’Cie mark? It’s somewhere secret with Toriyama stating it’s in “an amazing place” * The relationship between Lightning and Snow is a mystery, but we’ll know more about it soon.

/bored Their is a Game Show being held in Paris soon. Oct. 30th - Nov. 2nd. SE will be there. www.micromaniagameshow.fr/index.phpMaybe we will get some more info regarding XIII and XIV as both games are supposed to be present at the fair. Roughly translated: SE will occupy roughly 200m 2 at the up coming Micro Mania game show in Paris. They will be presenting not only SE titles but a few Eidos titles as well. Notably, the presence of a non playable FFXIII demo. It's the first time the game has been presented in the Occident (w/e, that area of the world). This highly anticipated RPG is supposed to be released in the second trimestre of 2010 on the 360 and PS3. The game combines elements of infiltration to an already classic role playing genre, in a universe "à la plastique très soignée". (I'm guessing that they are saying that the graphics are very refined, detailed. I am unfamiliar with the expression. The expression is probably more specific to France or to the video game industry.) The player will control a hero assisted by two other characters who are controlled by artificial intelligence. The universe itself combines both fantasy and futuristic elements.

New FFXIII Versus Info -Noctis rides a motorcycle. -The system is like a combined classic Final Fantasy style and Kingdom Hearts style. -Nomura says the game is unbelievable looking and he thought it wasn't possible. -From internal previews, animation and graphics look realistic. - Heavy focus on level design. FFXIII Info - Fang is physically stronger the Lightning and more strong-willed than Snow. - (Other main characters?) An FF mainstay (laughs) coughCidcough - Bahamut's element is not specified - Conceptually, Bahamut's style can be considered "Aerial Raver" (probably referring to the 2d fighting game style) in which using great mobility and power, he launches opponents into the air and juggles the **** out of them. - Sazh's summon is female. She has fun while fighting casually. - Palmpolm (location in trailers?) is crystallized because a battle between Snow + Shiva and a certain other individual took place previously. - Before the scenario was complete, Fang was a male character. - After making her female, in order to avoid too much similarities with Lightning, they made Lightning less sexy and Fang more sexy. Damn you Fang! - (Nomura himself?) has nothing to do with character weapons. - For FFXIII, transforming weapons are also a key concept as well as summons. - Ultimate decisions for voice casting was up to Toriyama. - Sazh was originally intended to wear a hat over his afro.
