Sorry guys, my desktop has been out of commission for a while and IT has yet to do anything about it. Those fucks. Anyways, I'm really pissed off because the only reason I originally couldn't get on the network was because of my pirated copy of Windows XP, so to make things easier on myself I went out and dropped 200$ on a real copy of Windows XP Home Edition only to find myself at a dead end. Now my computer wont even boot up and the nerds at IT are too ADD to do anything about it in a timely fashion. Those fucks.
In other news: I'm having a great time at school, classes are pretty easy, doing well for the most part, lots of girls, and I get insanely smashed every weekend and then some. Hopefully I can get some new pictures up some time.
With lots of love, Mirowr
P.S. I obviously hope to get this problem remedied ASAP and will see you all soon (keep your fingers crossed >< )

good to hear from you rowr!
i hate to tell you this, but it sounds like your IT guys are going to spend 4 hours trying everything they can think of, and then will resort to telling you to reformat and reinstall.
one question, is your computer able to boot from CD? Is it able to boot in safe mode?
have you tried overwriting your old copy of windows? installing a parallel copy of windows? repairing your current copy? etc....
i'm certain all of this doesn't matter too much, but it may be faster tinkering with it yourself than waiting on your IT ppl to do it.

Little update on progress I've made: 1) Missed English class today cause I found out at 1 AM last night that I had a paper to write and a chapter to read which just wasn't going to happen -- turns out she didn't collect it and there was just an oral discussion on the chapter as opposed to the mini-quizzes she usually gives out. Go figure. 2) While working on a project for my photography/video class my friend fumbled my 300$ digital camera and broke it on the hardwood floor. 3) I come back to my dorm room to find the kid next door who works for IT to tell me that my system has gone corrupt and that in order to repair my computer I'm probably going to have to wipe everything out and reinstall. I'll lose all my pron, my homework, my pictures (memories), and much more Needless to say I'm having a terrible day.

i was afraid they would say that you need to reformat and reinstall...
with how unstable and complicated windows is, if something critical goes wrong, it's usually irreversible. stupid windows... it's done that to me a couple of times in my life.

you are telling me he has your hard drive in his workstation and cant read any of the data? if so that is pretty bad, if he is just trying to boot up the system with the drive in your workstation still... im wondering wtf he is doing lol. you should be able to recover data from hard drive -> hard drive before rebuild in another workstation unless it is truly toast.... SAVE THE PR0N!.... >.>

hmm, i wonder if you could take it to geek squad or some other place like that to recover your stuff. my best friend's compy died - i mean, it was fried (not just an error, IT WAS TOTALLY DEAD!) and she took it to best buy and they were able to get all of her information off of it and onto a dvd. it kinda sucked because it was just before law school exams last year. but like scolas said, you can usually get that stuff off the hard drive. i think your IT ppl are just a bit lazy and newbish. most school IT groups are, lol. go somewhere that they get paid to fix your computer and that's what they focus on and you should have better results. just my opinion. oh, and about your camera, i've totally killed my 35 mm before, got it fixed for $150 (with a shattered lens and a completely killed zoom). it can be fixed, most likely.
best of luck kitty snow

Mirowr where do you live? more than likely you are across the world from me >.> but if you were close hell i would come fix the damn thing >.< lol. lazy ass "IT" people... there are very few reasons it "CANNOT" be fixed.... you dropped the computer in water... you fried it through short... or your hard drive had a melt down... other than that.. ive never "NOT" been able to get all/most the files recovered lol.
