hell... if they re-do ff7 for ps3 i'll buy it even if it is 1,000$ U.S. lol
Main reason why i dont like sony, they make faulty equipment then charge you to repair the shit they didnt make right in the first place. By the time they finish charging you all these fees you should have just bought a new ps2 to begin with (which is probably why they charge you all these fees to begin with). My launch ps2 broke with some bullshit disk read error (yah i was using it as a dvd player but i didnt know that will break the system, wonderful how they built in a feature that will break the system) i called them up and they said they wanted 80$ or something just to look at it and from the problem i had they said the replacement parts would cost me 60$ along with shipping and handeling... wtf. Its kinda like they are saying we know you are hooked on video games, so we dont give 2 shits about customer service.

Well my 1st generation PS2 lasted forever...I finally replaced it (even though it worked fine) and got another. I currenlty have 2 PS2's that both work fine...just the CD tray sticks on the old one which can easily be repaired. My friend has his Disk Read Error fixed for free with no shipping fee and this was over 2 years after launch (dunno when he bought it). My Xbox took a crap 3 months after buying it...power supply burned out.

sounds to me like you either came at them the wrong way, or had a string of bad luck.
I had a first gen PS2 (Waited in the 13 hour line with Nauren actually) and mine eventually started having disc read errors. not to mention it NEVER played DVD's. well, I kinda lived with it for a while, then after about 3 years I called in on it.
They treated it like a warranty exchange (Even tho the PS2 was WELL out of warranty), I paid shipping to get my PS2 to them (which was... maybe 6 bucks?) and they sent me a brand new one within the week.
I think either something was explained wrong, or if you call in with a "Your gonna do this and this now, cause i'm a mighty customer!" attitude, then I imagine you probably wont get handled the best. I know any customer that comes to me like that, I can promise they aren't leaving until they get drug through the mud.

Naw, I called them up after researching the problem online, and said my ps2 is having this problem bla bla bla is there any way that you can fix it for me? Then they told me that they charge a fee just to look at it, and if there were any parts that needed to be replaced I would have to pay for them. I wasnt rude at all :/ it was out of warranty though, maybe you just got a nice representative iono.

and praytell..how is PS3 gonna suck. The PS3 is gonna have the best stats as far as sheer power, it still has the most developer support (which is what matters). Last email report I read at work, Sony has lost a massive amount of developer support due to the fact that they're pushing back the system even further, and are now saying they can't use the Cell processor like they wanted to. Also, bear in mind that power alone does not make a system. Yes, more power allows for more options in gameplay, but most of those options are either way overblown (too many, too cluttered, too confusing, too difficult, etc.) or simply passed up entirely to make things more shiny and pretty in terms of graphics. It's a sad truth, but the vast majority of developers don't know how to handle it when they're given lots of power. In their defense, things are extremely rushed nowadays in the video game industry; it's rare that companies are honestly told to take their time to learn the ins and outs of the hardware, and make their work the best it can be. That's why so many "unfinished" games are released nowadays.

PS3's launch date has been announced as March-April 2006 and hasn't changed since its announcment. The processor is being used in more way then they even imagined when creating it..in fact...developers are now saying that it could very well be easier to program for then Xbox. They are not losing developer support rather then Xbox 360 is gaining it like the plague....ofcourse the developers are gonna jump on the first next gen system and get games out for it.....To be honest...all 3 next gen systems look awesome from what we have seen. I can't wait to play all of them... I have heard the rumor they are losing the developer support...but nobody can name a developer that has left them.
