As a kid I absolutely loved Transformers. I've even gotten my nephew hooked on them through old tapes I have. The problem I've put myself in though is while watching the shows recently I can't really see what was good about them lol.
I remember reading a tough criticism of the shows that said, "it was a milestone show because it was a 30-minute commercial each for another new toy." It seems every show was just that. The Decepticons got the upperhand through a previously unseen Decepticon while the Autobots prevailed thanks to a new Autobot previously unseen.
So in that regard the movie is definitely holding up to the franchise ... selling out for marketing lol.
I might see it ... not on opening weekend ... not at full price ... if I had a $1.00 theater around here I would. Definitely not getting my hopes up though.

lol For anyone who's ever watched the cartoon Freakazoid!, I believe the term is "Toyetic." And yeah, the Transformers cartoon was more or less a big commercial, but so many kids' cartoons are. I can't remember if the cartoon was at all this way, but the original comic actually had a story line-- Soundwave challenged Megatron and became leader of the Decepticons for awhile, Spike got cancer, maybe... I dunno. I looked it up online many years ago. But you grow up with something, it becomes a part of you, and all the logic in the world can't make it suck.  |

He could but I think it will be a good movie. Then again I'm a big fan and would view the movie even if it was only a little better than the third TMNT movie.

Transformers is starting to look like my hit movie of the summer... Oceans 13 was great too. Actually, a lot good movies this summer. I love HP... I missed Spidey 3 damnit >< Still need to see Shrek and Pirates... Lol pretty good summer actually... |

anyway, im going July 4th....what was SUPPOSED to be opening day, before it got pushed to July 3rd.....so you can all just fall over! or...something.....
