So who all here cant wait for the July 4th drop?......it looks beautiful......saying that i grew up with them and all, i just cant wait....my whole family is going...and knowing us my bro's gunna bring his $150 Optimus Prime with him *Chuckle*
Anyway, thought i might stop in and say " 'ello chaps"......

Only other person that I know who is more pumped then me and you is durifto from FF (Dr. Ifto on KI  ) I believe he was the one who first pointed the movie out to me (well the public, not me personally lol)... But yea, I cant wait! |

That'll be cool.
I'm also looking forward to the live action Gun Dream movie that James Cameron is doing (aka Gunnm aka Battle Angel Alita). I loved those mangas growing up... the anime was decent but the manga was 100000 times better. And they're being released again as a continuation called "Last Order" now. teehee
Also... there's a Shin Seiki Evangelion liveaction movie in the works. Oh... I'm in geek heaven.

I'm preparing myself to be horribly disappointed in the hopes that I will be pleasantly surprised by how much it doesn't suck. ...But we'll see. They've already got two strikes against them: Bumblebee is not a Volkswagon Beetle (why did they have to change that? What is the purpose besides product placement?), and Michael Bay is directing. While he's made some fun action movies in the past that I've enjoyed the way I enjoy pixie stix (they're tasty, but no nutritional value whatsoever), he's also the complete ass who made Pearl Harbor and talks like a total meat-head (I remember one interview where he kept bragging about how f-ing hot his wife was, even though it wasn't actually on the reviewer's list of questions). But, like I said, we'll see. I'm still going, but I refuse to get very excited about it. Yes, it's a defense mechanism. I've been burned by so many other movies in the past...  |

Wasn't it Shockwave? Or is that a different guy. And didn't they change megatron from a gun to something else (gun = too violent)

Also, if it was shockwave, I think he was originally a gun too. I think it had a button to make it light up along the sides and make blaster noises. This is 20 years ago, so my memory may be a bit hazy.

aye, shockwave was the big purple gun that had two different settings in which it lit up and made laser sounds in kind of a rapid fire or pulse-- I think, can't remember that for sure. I guess it kind of makes sense that they change Soundwave because how many people even know what a Walkman is these days? What does he do, terrorize the $.99 shelf at the local Salvation Army? Still sucks though, because then you don't have the cool tapes that turned into a bat and a vulture (Laserbeak FTW!), etc., and it's part of this hip "updating" trend that interests nobody new and upsets the old fans. And there's no excuse for Bumblebee. People still drive VW Beetles all the time. No excuse I say!! /rant off |

Oh, and during the Transformers movie, Megatron was changed into Galvatron, which was more like a giant space-ray than an actual gun. I don't know if that's because some media watch-dog group got on their case because of violence, or what, but that did happen. Also, he was voiced by Leonard Nemoy in said movie. |

Sadly, I can't remember what he said to Laserbeak. I seem to recall that he would always send Laserbeak to spy because he had a camera mounted on his shoulder, or something. Yeah man, I'm drawng a blank and I don't weed to fall back on as an excuse lol. I know there was two tapes to start with, Laserbeak and Ravage, I think. Was that the panther (or whatever) or the bat? And what was the fourth one?
I know the Autobots, when they finally got Blaster and their own tapes, had four-- Fast Forward and Rewind were both little robots, then there was a lion and I think an eagle. Anyone else have any idea? I'm about to break down and Google it...
