It's an interesting concept thats already in place (or was) in Isreal.
But doesn't have such a large age range.At the age of 18 all Isrealites go into the military for a minumum period of 2 years after graduating high school.(may have changed in the past 10 years but i doubt it)A small country with alot of enemies they need as many military personal they can get.
Our problem here in the US is that we are too large of a country to be able to afford having that many people on the payroll for 2 years.With the down-sizing of the military as it is it will never get passed for the sheer cost of doing this. Not to mention the will of the American people and their freedom of choice will wreak havoc on Washington D.C.

As an Army Veteran, I will go to prison before I ever serve for the military again.
Screw this ridiculous shit of loosing people in a meaningless war which started over American Politics.
Didn't our great leaders learn anything from Vietnam? Drafting worked so well the last time around.

Just e-mailed my Representative.
Made the message something like this "that idea sucks, F-that".
However I put it a bit more eloquently like "I'm a Veteran, we cannot support freedom by taking it away and forcing our own citizens into positions which they do not believe in. I hope you Congressmen Pomeroy do not support this bill, by the way, I voted for you last election".

OMG, this is stupid. I'm getting a little tired of this country. I hear land in Antarctica is cheap, I think I'll move there and just play Final Fantasy. I'll tele-commute for work to pay the billz. Markus can even come live with me in Antarctica so he doesn't have to get a job. It'll be fun. My new Icy Compound will be a place where the only government is EO and we can have EO weekend retreats. No reason to put it in a nice area, since we all know all we'll do is stay inside and have a lan party anyways. Yay...

It's a political stunt -- this isn't the first time Rangel has introduced this bill.

...Canada?
No, seriously. I'm starting to think about changing citizenship, myself... at work today, I had to sit and listen to these two COMPLETELY IGNORANT-ASS girls I would assume were fresh out of high school. Now, I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion - and if your view differs from mine, I can respectfully agree to disagree... as long as you have some smattering of intelligence to justify your point of view.
For fifteen minutes, I listened to their claims that the only thing our current president has done wrong in his entire tenure was not tighten border patrols to "keep the wetbacks out of our country and stop stealing our fucking money." Yeah. Right. I had to listen to her talk about "joining the border patrol when I'm 21, so I can get a gun and just shoot some of them." I listened to her rip on every measure the democratic party has taken in 4 years (I'm not a democrat, I'm a bipartisan liberal,) without having the slightest clue what she was talking about. And the entire time, I just kept wishing I had a newspaper on me so I could show her what one looks like, and possibly explain how one goes about picking one up and "reading it." I'm sorry. If you can't name 5 countries that are NOT the United States of America, you have no right to comment on American politics... lol - -;
