Didn't say anywhere in there that those were the only games worth buying on the system. Simply stated that in my eyes, Metal Gear Solid 4 is enough to justify my purchase. Either way, we have a completely separate thread dedicated to this ongoing debate. Ok..so I understand we are talking about PS3 games you think you would like...but its worded as the only PS3 exclusives worth playing and that entirely wrong. LBP Resistace 1 & 2 Killzone 2 Heavenly Sword Folklore Flower MGS4 God of War 3 Gran Turismo 5 Warhawk Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty Ratchet and Clank (yet to be named) Uncharted 1 & 2 Valkyria Chronicles Motorstorm1 & 2 White Knight Chronicles Infamous FFXIII Versus Wipeout HD Heavy Rain M.A.G Yakuza 3 Trico Jak & Daxter 4 Twisted Metal Demon Souls The Agency Short list off the top of my head...some are future What does the 360 have above and beyond these? No Halo in sight...no Gears of War anytime soon....Mass Effect 2 has gone multiplatform...so has the next Bioshock..Lost Planet 2 will almost def come to the PS3.......so what? List Wars time.

I'm not challenging your preferences. You like what you like. I'm challenging the "nearly all on the 360" as my list proves contrary. I also brought up the point that the 360 is now losing some of its exclusives that shaped your current opinion.

MLB: The Show is generally considered the best baseball game among fans, and also is a PS3 exclusive.

These are very obviously not conclusive lists. It's been years since both of the consoles were released, their libraries have greatly increased in size since even last year. Why bother posting them now, then? To illustrate a point. My central argument has always been based around one central point: which system has the most games that I want to play? As such, my opinion tends to change depending on what the game market looks like and can end up pretty different between console release and the end of its console generation. During the first year of the Xbox 360 and PS3's competition, the PS3 suffered from a lack of console exclusive games to warrant the system's purchase for people who didn't care about the backwards compatibility they were still using as a central selling point. Since then, a lot has changed. The majority of games with high press reviews are now being released on multiple platforms, a feature that's radically different from the previous console generation where almost every game worth playing was a console exclusive. As it currently stands, both systems have developed a very long list of high-quality games. A few of these titles are console exclusives, but this is no longer true for the majority. In short, my opinion on which system is better boils down to the same point I've said since the beginning: which one is better for the individual gamer depends on their individual taste.

Sorry for the double post, but considering the former's massive length...
Wii suck. In like 18 years of gaming, it's the first console system I have ever[/i] sold.
Pretty much every cross-over port that the Wii receives (especially from the list above) is a very watered down version that include none of the benefits of the system (like good motion controls.)
Wii exclusive games have a well-deserved reputation for being mostly shovel-ware.
There are about five exclusive games on the system that are actually worth owning... and I personally found four of them to be very disappointing.
Nintendo flaunts the motion controls as "revolutionary," but I've only seen about two or three games actually get them right. Even then, they're finicky and ironically unintuitive. It feels more like using a remote control (which isn't original in gaming) instead of "drawing you into" the game.
The Wii's a very decent system to consider for strictly casual gamers. A lot of the titles are family-oriented or designed for brief play sessions. It is severely lacking in games for gamers who are a little more serious about their systems, and with no decent titles on the horizon, I pretty much abandoned it.
I appreciate what the system is doing to bring gaming to the casual masses but I can't reconcile the anger I feel as an 18 year supporter (I consider the NES my first gaming system, though we had an Intellivision II,) over Nintendo's ironic lack of evolution.

I'd never challenge your individual taste...but I will challenge an incorrect opinion and yes there is such an animal. Like for me....I can't stand MGS4 which is like the pinnacle of most peoples PS3 selection....but I don't dare say it wasn't revolutionary and an incredible game. I simply don't like it or the story line. But anyways...my list above completely negates the statement I quoted of yours. Every game I listed is a high quality game....albeit not to your particular taste. So your statement read as its typed basically says PS3 doesn't have enough high quality games. I'd challenge anyone to disprove me with another list for another console that completely and totaly rivals the one I posted. I know that it isn't possible because I know just about ever single game ever to be released minus some "my pony" games for the Wii......... The politically correct statement I'm looking for is "There are not enough games that interest me on the PS3" The only reason I'd ever challenge this statment, was if I knew of a game you played on the 360 that was amazingly similar and even then it would be for conversation sake. (i.e. GOW and Killzone 2) I also agree with pretty much everything you said about the Wii....its the only system I regret buying.

I personally think both systems are great. However, I own an xbox, ps3 and Wii and i think they all have their advantages. However, Wii being the most inferior due to lack of gaming capability, games and performance. However, SMG and SSB were both amazing on Wii, aswell as Resident Evil 4 and good old Zelda. But thats about the entire list of games Id even consider playing lmao.
Xbox, my problem is that theres too many hardware issues, mine has broken on 3 different occasions. Games are great, excellent online features. Personally I'd rate the online to be better than PS3. However, the community is full of skanky asshats, just the features and game avaliability > PS3 So i have found. Also orange box way better on xbox.. but i play it on PC mainly..
PS3 has great games, very similar game lineup to Xbox in my opinion except for a few specific titles. However, thats all preference. Hardware wise much superior also and I personlly have had no issues what so ever with my PS3's. (I own 2.. lol dont ask why, its complicated). PS3 = my console of choice, just i wish the controller felt alittle better...

The point I was trying to illustrate with the list wasn't that one console had more system exclusives or more popular games than the other. Actually, it was quite the opposite: I was trying to point out that fact that while this may have been true when both of the systems were relatively new, they both have a very large library with their own selection of console exclusives. Console exclusivity is no longer the massive system-seller it was in previous console generations. Companies are starting to realize that designing games for multiple console releases can be a lucrative endeavor if they can tap into both respective player-bases. It is impossible for me to give a "politically correct" statement such as "There are not enough games that interest me on the PS3" because this is not, in fact, the case. The closest I can get to that is "When I chose to buy a next-gen console, I chose the Xbox 360 because at the time it had more games that I was interested in." This is still technically true, but I wouldn't really call the PS3 a waste of money anymore. I could possibly argue it's still pretty expensive for what you get (backwards compatibility is still a big deal for me, those models aren't going to get any cheaper as they become more scarce,) but the fact remains that it has finally begun to really mature as a console and offers a respectable library. And for the record, here's the "top five" I was talking about: - Super Mario Galaxy - A great game on its own, an interesting new direction for the series... but inferior to Super Mario 64. It's filled with charm and most importantly fun to play, but every challenge is essentially a linear path without a lot of diversion. I personally felt the open-world exploratory gameplay of Super Mario 64 was superior, but it was a nice ride from beginning to end.
- The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess - I have so many mixed feelings about this game. Judged by its own merits, it's a "good" game. Given my expectations for the game however, I was incredibly disappointed. The graphics were inexcusably dated and I refuse to accept that being a "gamecube port" is an excuse for this since Nintendo is so quick to laud it as one of the best games on the system. The motion controls were a pointless exercise in frustrating arm flailing. The sound quality was straight out of 1998. The gameplay was extremely linear and involved way too many fetch quests. Frustrating.
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption - One of the stronger offerings on the system. Was a fun romp while it lasted, but the 'learning curve' on the new controls was so steep with the default control scheme that it took most of the way through the game to get used to them. The alternate setup is much easier to adjust to. My only major complaint with the game is that it plays in even more of a linear fashion than Prime 2 with a very large de-emphasis on the exploratory gameplay (see a pattern here?) that is the hallmark of the Metroid series. Great shooter, 'meh' Metroid game.
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl - The biggest disappointment of all, in my eyes. Once again, judged by its own merits, it's a great game. It's fun to play (while it lasts,) and is an absolute must-own party game. Unfortunately, all of its "innovations" take two steps backwards for every step they claim to take forwards. Character balance is a joke now, ruining competitive play. I appreciate new characters such as Snake, who has an interesting and unique emphasis on strategic location-based attacks that result in bait and trap gameplay... but moves are obviously not balanced with competitive gameplay in mind. The single player campaign is incredibly tedious and only worth playing through because it's the easier way to unlock a lot of the multiplayer content. And the worst travesty of all... most gamers would have been content if Brawl was basically Melee (which it is, make no mistake about it) with working online play - but Nintendo's pointlessly frustrating friend code registration, horrible lag and baffling inability to communicate with other players or change any of the game settings utterly destroys the concept of competitive online play. Very, very disappointing.
- Super Paper Mario - The "3D-twist platforming" was an interesting concept that was poorly realized. You'll be flipping in and out of 3D mode about once every 10 seconds. Can't progress somewhere? Flip. Hit another brick wall? Flip back. Environments are incredibly bland and not particularly fun to navigate, despite the game pretending to be a platform game with RPG trappings. Not enough action to be a platforming game (or platforming for that matter,) and virtually no RPG elements other than (pointless and boring) town exploration, item management and nominal "character stat growth." The dialogue was entertaining but pointlessly long-winded and the entire game reeks of oversimplicity for the sake of being accessible to six-year-olds, who will be too young to appreciate any of the innovative changes the game makes.

Clue, I have all 3 as well. My Wii only gets turned on when my wife wants to play.
Sieg...thats one thing we can agree on...the PS3 needs a price drop. It has pulled off some amazing sales for being as expensive as it is. Historically thats unprecidented. 22 million PS3 have sold thus far...only putting it around 7 million behind the 360 with the 360 coming out an entire year earlier....
Sony actually posted profit last quarter for the first time which means the manufacturing cost of the PS3 is coming down as well. That very well could lead to a price drop.

Yeah my Wii has been sitting next to my TV collecting dust for some time now. My PS2 still gets way more action than the Wii (thank you Persona 3 & 4 (and goodbye 200~ hours of my life). I remember being so pumped for the Wii for the longest time, getting up early and waiting in lines and the like. It turned out to be the biggest disappointment (save dozens of hours of fun playing SSBB with my friends). I couldn't agree more with the wonky controls and shitty, shitty games. But as for your PS3 exclusive list, I maintain that the only games I'm interested in are MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, and FFXIII Versus. If the price is going to drop soon then I'm probably going to consider buying one (mostly for the Blu-Ray player though). XBOX360 has Star Ocean 4 coming out really soon !

I will not take the time to publicly express my opinions. Needless to say, I am right and you are all wrong for various reasons! And you have been smotten the appropriate number of times!! Fuck XBOX. It's simple. IT BRAKES! That's got to be the biggest downfall of a video game system, EVER. If it can't play games, it's useless. Inferior piece of equipment imo. They have regained a lot of my respect though by finally agreeing to repair it for free. Idk why they put up such a fight the first time I asked them to repair it... Which was years ago. They kept changing their minds on how they were dealing with the situation. It appears that they have decided to repair them all... I bet you the video game makers pick up a part of the bill... The Wii was awesome. Revolutionary technology. It had a few good games, but true to Nintendo form, it caters to the kiddies and old folk and that's w/o the RPGs it used to have back in the day... Many, many games were very fun to play for a short time, it gets very repetitive it and almost feels like many of the games weren't finished. Or how about this... Every game on this console (almost every) is rental onry. Fuck buying games that don't have any depth. I sold mine as well. Made a profit on it too. I really enjoyed Zelda and Tiger Woods Golf. Now I regret selling it because it does have a FF title coming out soon. Idc if the title sucks, I want to play anything and everything that is FF. My PS3 also broke down. I am not as bitter about it. Why? Man I used that thing so much... I must of left Madden in the system and turned on for like a month. I played 8 min quarters until 2020 or some shit... I'm assuming the drive stopped spinning because of shit like that... I watched a shit ton of Blu-Rays (even if my TV sucks lol) on it as well. At the very least I can say I clocked a ton of hours on my PS3. Where as the 360, I barely used it (it didn't have that many games when it was released, at least none that interested me. I enjoy Sports and RPGs, that's about it. Some others, sometimes but not really...) But it's bull shit. I don't ever remember forking out 6 bills for a system back in the day. And I never heard of any of system breaking down. The first time I heard of it was with the PS1s iirc. Supposedly they over heated *shrug* Everyone I know had a PS1, none of us had issues. Now suddenly we are shelling out 650 for brand new systems and they break down after limited use? Bull shit. And they wanted to charge. I assume they abandoned the wanting to charge for repairs because people a). were refusing to pay b) accusing Microsoft of selling shotty equipment to bolster repair sells... Controllers. I don't like the 360 controller either. I got used to it, but the PS controllers are more comfortable to hold imo... My 360 is off white, the Wii is white. Very huge fucking phail imo... Kids play with video games, people who smoke trees play video games... I have to scrub the chronic resin off the controllers all the time... And even the console itself needs to be cleaned very often. It's like wearing white pants outside in the winter... No matter how careful you are your pant legs are going to get at least a little bit dirty. I'm pretty sure cigarette smokers play video games too.... Wtf do they do? Re paint there consoles? Anyways, I like Sony better than Microsoft the same way I liked Nintendo better than lolSega. Those are my home teams and that's it. I cheered for Nintendo for years, hoping they'd bounce back... Sony eventually took up that spot in my heart.

The only reason why Wii is selling so while is because it a whole rounder console. Gonna quote my friend "Wii allow gamer from 8-80 to play and even those with one eye blind are able to play it"

Insiders are saying that PS3 has an immenent price drop in the next month or so. Most likely making it $299.
