I finally got around to playing my qualifying games for the 1v1 league today.
I won all five in a row and qualified for the Diamond league.
...$!#*.
Oh well. At least I'll get a few replays to study before I get my record blown completely out of the water and thrown down to bronze league... lol

I don't think you understand how much of a problem this is for me.
When I was in highschool, I was so deep into Starcraft local tournament play that I heard pylons warping into the back of my head while eating lunch in the cafeteria.

It's true. They're great games and they're relatively cheap and easy to find. The PS2 really was one of the best systems ever released for RPG fans. I have fifty or sixty games on my "eventually find time to play through" list... including DQ8, which I still haven't beaten. It bears mentioning, though, that the Persona and Shin Megami Tensei series have a well deserved reputation for being Nintendo Hard. Make sure you take your blood pressure medication before you play them!

How the hell did I not hear of this?
Also, it looks like Medoracroix will finally have to get with the times and buy a next-gen system.

jonathan_prince28@hotmail.com RealID me sir! Honestly though all I play is Custom/UMS games like Red Circle TD lol I used to love the Circle TD line. I was a prolific mapmaker myself back in the day. Sadly, financial concerns are preventing me from picking this up for awhile. FFXIV has to come first.

I think his issue is he wants to play FF not WoW XD I used to have that issue myself. Unfortunately, I was never able to successfully resolve it. I just kind of accepted it and learned to live with it.

I was reading over this thread, and to be honest it doesn't seem like there's much you can do if it's an integrated card. The 240 is a *newer* card than the 9800 GTX, but it's actually a fair bit weaker in terms of raw power. When it comes to video cards, newer doesn't necessarily mean better - they are released in different classifications based on price structure and how new the technology is. As you pointed out later, it's also a 240m - not a 240. The specs listed above are actually for the desktop version of the card - the integrated version is much weaker. The ~512mb increase in physical RAM is an advantage that your laptop has, but Windows 7 is also a substantially more demanding OS than XP and it shouldn't make an enormous difference in your performance either way since both systems are well over what the game needs to perform well. Your best hope is to try and scale back advanced options like anti-aliasing/multisampling and some of the advanced lighting effects added in WotLK. If you find that you have good performance in old world/BC areas and then your performance nosedives after entering a WotLK area, it's a fairly good indication your card doesn't support the advanced features they've added in those areas. If that doesn't work, try decreasing your visible draw distance. By decreasing how much of the horizon the game has to draw, it should yield a very noticeable increase in performance... particularly in outdoor areas. As a last resort, try running the game at a lower resolution.

I get to see them about once every two years, so I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm just not looking forward to giving up the master bedroom for 2+ months since I'm such a light sleeper and will be out in the living room. lol
I don't have any plans to leave Tampa in the near future. My little sister will be down here and attending university in Sept., my older sister still lives with me. Since we've basically been living away from our little sister for like 5 years (even longer for my older sister,) and only getting to see her every other summer, we're actually looking forward to her being so close by.
Job prospects are pretty terrible here, but I just got wind of a new contract opening up with a major computer company. Can't really talk about it yet, but keep your fingers crossed for me.
Regarding the magic thing, I'll talk with Andrew sometime tonight and see what he thinks about it. If he doesn't head it up this time, I probably will, but it will be a bit slow getting off the ground with all the stuff I have going on right now. Either way, I should know what's happening with it by Friday, so if it looks like it's happening, I'll probably draft an announcement a little early.

Oh god.. you and your "sandwiches."
With the new 2011 core set just around the corner, there's talk of a new Magic "season" starting up in the next week or so. Haven't announced it yet because we're still working out the details (pointbuy vs. draft, etc.) but it is likely that Delacroix (Andrew) will be heading it up this time... I anticipate being extremely busy for the next month or two.
My entire family is effectively moving into my tiny 2 bedroom condo until like September to help set my little sister up for college, so I imagine privacy, free time and sanity will all be at a premium for awhile. They get here on Thursday.

I've been out for the last few days due to family, but... Happy 4th of July, Orphans! (Canadians: happy belated 1st, eh?) Here's hoping everyone has plans to get smashed and enjoy some time with friends and family grillside. Remember: if you do drink, it is your sworn duty to take pictures and post them here for us to make fun of you.

I have a feeling that a lot of people went from "mildly interested" to "fuck that noise" very quickly after that announcement.
The problem with gimmicky accessories like this is that only a small number of consumers generally own them. This being the case, the potential market base for producing games targeted around these accessories is equally small (realistically smaller, since not every motion based game will appeal to someone with a Natal-enabled system.) Small title library supporting the feature means little incentive to actually own one... and before you know it, they end up as a door stop.
There are obvious exceptions to this (the Nintendo 64's rumble pack and arguably the Wiimote itself come to mind,) but there are far more examples of failed peripherals than successful ones. The price point has a lot to do with it as well; people are generally more likely to drop $20-30 on a gimmicky device they may not get much use out of (read: pretty much any Wii accessory,) than they are $150.
