Sorry the gaming updates have slowed down all 3 of you that visit this section of the boards. In between shows, there is always a lull of information.
we just have leipzig last month and we have TGS next month. I expect a whole hell of a lot of info next month.
In the mean time I've been playing Infinite Undiscovery (kinda dumb) The game has some interesting aspect to control..but none seem to really work that well. Doubled with horrible voice acting and no Japanese button...this game is meh.
I'm also playing Disgaea 3. Horrible sprite graphics combined with Japanese sexual innuendo and corny jokes...this is definately an acquired taste game...but if you acquire that taste...its a great game.

Its a good game...leagues better then the old version. Just the game doesn't take advantage of the PS3's graphics.

i totally read these even though I havn't touched my Ps3 in several months!
Only ever used it for around 6 Hours of Assassin's Creed gameplay and 3 hours of Dark Kingdom gameplay. Both were toooo repetitive. Oh, and I've seen one bluray - Spiderman3.
/waits eagerly for final fantasy to justify the money spent

lol Jonathan
If you buy ANY console for games that are 12's on a scale of 1-10..you'll always be disappointed. Try some games that are 8's, 9's and 10's to get your moneys worth.
with that said...Assassins Creed and DK were both repetitive.

Agreed. I enjoyed both titles, but thought they had missed a lot of opportunities for greatness that were just unacceptable. Assassin's Creed especially. It's a great game overall, and the assassinations themselves are quite fun to play. In the end though, the game would have benefited much more if they had simply taken the few extra months for development and diversified the content a little more rather than forcing you to repeat the same tired objectives over and over again just to get to the good parts. In recent gaming news: Spore hits shelves; is pretty much what people expected. It's a sandbox game that lacks in details, but makes up for it with typical Maxis charm. The gameplay is very basic, but the enormous license for creativity they grant you is realy the highlight of the game. Rock Band 2: Actually turns out to be Rock Band 1.5. There are a small handful of base changes; but by large, the sequel consists of a new set list (which is, admittedly, much better than the first game,) new animations, new venues, and a revamped career mode. While the new venues are all impressive and fun to play in, and the new choreography has really stepped up its game, I was disappointed that virtually no new costume options were added. Infinite Undiscovery looks very disappointing, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to it. I'll be picking up The Force Unleashed tonight, so we'll see how it plays.

I didn't like the Force Unleashed demo. It was very clunky.
IU was kind of disappointing. I'm going to keep at it though and see if it starts to grow on me.

Force Unleashed has gotten a lot of negative press; but to be frankly honest, I've had a lot of fun with it so far. I can already tell it's going to be a pretty short game, but it represents a pretty significent leap forward for the series, which frankly has seen a lot of ups and downs.
The presentation, overall, is excellent. The graphics are not the best you'll see on either the PS3 or the 360, but the attention to details is placed in all of the right places and the game really pops for the most part. The audio side of the presentation is largely flawless. The voice acting is perfectly delivered, and as expected, it sounds exactly like a Star Wars game. The story is leagues ahead of the previous attempts by the series, and I personally believe surpasses the tone set by the last few movies. It's sweeping and emotional, and you'll find yourself genuinely interested in the characters.
The gameplay is, admittedly, the most important area for any game. Combat in Force Unleashed is well paced, for the most part. Using the force powers to blow your opponents away is, put simply, freaking amazing. The game's biggest strength is its ability to make you feel like an unrelenting, unstoppable torrent of destructive power that washes over the environments. The only real issues the game has are its relative brevity, minor camera issues, and poor targeting selection.
Give it a rent, at least. You'll probably beat it over an extended weekend gaming session, but it's definately worth playing through.
