www.ps3forums.com/showthread.php?t=157423Ok for the record I don't believe it's a remake, but still, what are they releasing on the 18th? If it is a remake, then well it would be just awesome, maybe they're just re-releasing it? I guess I'll just wait until the 18th, and when it's nothing...again I won't be disappointed =P.

True, but what if Sony was funding it, now if Sony is a publicly owned company then well I'm out of ideas ;D. But to be fair the fact remains this info has been out for a week now and no one (Best-Buy or Squre Enix) has denied it. The rational side of me knows this isn't a remake but the stupid little ff fanboy in me is jumping up and down kicking and screaming hoping for it to be real .

Sony is publicly held, but they don't employ the talent it would take to remake FF7, and if they were funneling tens of millions of dollars into SE, the investors would still know. You need the best of the best to pull off a game of that magnitude, and the best are working for Square-Enix, and the investors know what they are all working on. Square-Enix is just too small to hide what would be one of the most expensive and resource intensive projects in their history. My guess FF7 has been ported to the PS3/PSP and will be available in their store. Or is it the confirmed rumor that the FFXIII demo will be available on the FF7 Advent Children Blu-Ray edition? Nauren? I just saw the Best Buy thing for the first time, could be a shop by the poster on the GameTrailers forums who allegedly took the pic, or just a mistake:

I've seen several of these Best Buy posters and a ton of them were nothing but photoshops that look exactly like this poster. People put games on there that we know aren't coming out for a while like God of War III and Gears of War 2.
FFXIII demo on the Advent Children Complete Blu-ray isn't happening until March 9, 2009 in Japan...no word on NA or Europe yet.
Sony DID publish FF 7 on the PSOne. Eidos published it for PC...but most likely SE will publish the remake/sequal on their own..but most likely Sony still has rights to the game.
If this were anything other then a shop job...I'd probably have caught wind of it right now. Also SE nor Sony has denied it yet...which in this industry means it is not true. If they are quick to deny a rumor...that means "heads up..its coming".
