Its a Final Fantasy game, but not a FFXIII spinoff...so we shall see.
· 'Dissidia' is indeed Final Fantasy title, but not a Final Fantasy XIII spin-off as rumors suggested.
· Tetsuya Nomura is in charge of Character Design.
Rumors claim this game is to be released for the Sony PSP, but this still has no confirmation.
Official Site
Square-Enix has just released the teaser site for Dissidia -Final Fantasy-.
It will be released for the PlayStation Portable, and the genre is listed as "Dramatic Progressive Action", and will have characters designed by Tetsuya Nomura. Dissidia is Latin for "To Dissagree", however, it does not appear to be part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis project. The characters in the logo bear an uncanny resemblance to Princess Sara and Chaos, from the original Final Fantasy.
Confirmed Characters
Zidane (Final Fantasy IX)
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
Kuja (Final Fantasy IX)
Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy I)
Garland (Final Fantasy I)
Cosmos (God of Light - On Logo)
Chaos (God of Darkness - On Logo)
Squall (Final Fantasy VIII)
Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII)
Tidus (Final Fantasy X)
Jecht (Final Fantasy X)
- Max character level is 100.
- Each character has a unique skill.
- During the battle you'll be able to pick up treasure chests.
- Nomura said there won't be more than 20 characters, but stated there might be suprises. We are guessing there will be secret unlockable characters.
- The game will have Gil and AP, however their use is a secret for now.
- Game is 50% complete, they are done with the characters.
- Final Fantasy series characters battle on a 3D field. The genre is fighting competition action (?).
- The gods Cosmos and Chaos called on the heroes of light and dark
- Warrior of light from FF1, Zidane from FF9 will participate
- Garland and Kuja are also confirmed
- Character designs by Nomura.
Only 20% of the game has been shown...many elements have not been shown'
-Jecht was chosen over Seymour due to Seymour being a mid boss....would also have to add Yuna if they added Seymour
-Certain storyline will be elaborated on from the original games (i.e. find out more about Tidus and Jecht that FFX didn't tell us)
-Not all parts of the FF storylines will be followed 100%
-Choose who your opponents are...upsets can happen even with a 60 level difference. Choice is very important
-Getting to level 100 will feel like your just getting started
-Script is as long as Crisis Core's
-Release date will be given to us in August
