It's interesting to see that they actually made a sequel. I remember, way back in developer interviews, they explicitly stated that they felt the story arc of Diablo was now complete and that they had no plans to release a direct sequel. There was some rampant speculation about a possible prequel, but that pretty much died when virtually the entire Diablo II team left during a studio closure.
Looks like their plans have changed.
It will be interesting to see if this is basically Diabo 2.5 with 3D graphics and a fixed isometric camera angle, or if they're opting for a significently different experience from the prior installations.

Never cared for Diablo. Give me Starcraft II and let me know about the MMO your working on. The WoW faithful have their panties in a bunch... They keep calling the Diablo players "clickers"... Also, on the subject of profitable consoles. Up here, all the stores sell their systems AT A LOSS. Not sure how that works in the grand scheme of things but the electronic stores aren't turning a profit from console sales. All games and accessories.

yep, starcraft 2 is also on my list of things to get aswell. as for mmo's to be honest im not really playing any right now. played Tabula Rasa for awhile(then got pissed cuz some of the things i liked to do i really couldnt cuz of dialup), switched over to playin CoV/CoH for awhile aswell. Same thing there except that game jus had bad networking code, and i couldnt even group up with more than like 2-3 people without getting mass lag. Though it was pretty awsome being able to design your own supergroup(guild) base that was both good looking or bad depending on tastes, and was also functional. After that I was kinda playing Rappelz a lil bit, but mostly jus waiting for it to get updated. Since the next game update will make a major an good change to pets which would aid in leveling. but still im quite excited about diablo 3 coming out. even if the release date hasnt been announced yet. Between Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, and Fallout 3 should be pretty busy.

It's a fun game, but unfortunately, there is no real "endgame" content to speak of. The entirety of the game consists of the "leveling experience," which, honestly, is an incredible grind.
It is, however, a fantastic game to play in groups.
As for bad network code... meh. I rarely had problems, but would ocassionally time out while zoning. It had more in-game issues with missions and game content than anything else that I saw.
The Supergroup base function I loved the hell out of. As a group of three active players over a couple of months, we easily put together a completely functional, pretty much maxed out base on the Hero side. The catch is that in order to have anything better than the smallest base size, you need a large number of active players.
Diablo III sounds like it might be pretty cool for you, X.
Lots of leveling content, and promised "great gameplay" without the online lag... but still playable with friends or online.

yah, but im jacking cable now!! I'm not getting the full speed of it, but im still getting like 300-600 kbs d/l's and pings around 20-100. I had ordered a better(newer) adapter, but the antenna was complete crap on the newer one. So i jus ordered yet another wireless adapter thats a 802.11g(Linksys). The one im using atm is only a 802.11b(Linksys). The one that was junky was a 802.11g(Belkin). The belkin mighta been decent if I wasnt tryin to steal internet from the house across the road from me. lol
