INC MEMORY LANE! That game consumed me too. It was probably more the people than the game. You'd think it would be the people that liked me that would keep me motivated... But alas, it was the haters that kept me going for so long. I ran out of juice when I realized my inner circle was full of haters. I believed Beren and some others when they warned me... I just didn't want to believe it or deal with it I guess. First time in my life I have been in denial, swear to God. I am a very realistic down to earth person. The realest HAI GUYS HOW'D THAT LS GO LOLZ! Your forums are quite the read (the small part you eventually put public anyway...) Turning down mergers. Non stop hypocrisy by so many people. Constantly getting called newbs. People would shell hop like crazy... Great fuel for the flames imo... And I could go on and on. WoW just attracts a different type of person (stay tuned for my upcoming novel; What came first? The douche bag or the pussy?) I mean it was literally a 24/7 soap opera and sadly we were all addicted to the drama. And an XP party has a certain charm as well. Hard to explain. Like Locke said... RMT issues and 24 hour spanws means there was a part of the game we didn't get to enjoy... *shrug* No regrets! Great game, shitty developpers (I guess, shitty whoever is responsible for making changes and keeping shit up to date). Tons of awesome people and fucktards

Bump/Edit:
I've still never killed myself with Life Tap.
Yet.
There were several reasons I found myself sucked into Vana'diel. It was not my first MMO, but it was definately the one that influenced my life more than any other.
I picked up the game the first few days of NA PC release, and have years of memories from it. Some of the coolest people I've met were in the game, and many of them were from EO. As others have said, social interaction in that game had a certain kind of magic to it that I've yet to replicate in another game. I absolutely loved the partying/job system, and it's probably what kept me in the game so long.
WoW will always be fun because it's accessible, but I'll miss my days in FFXI and always look back at them in fondness.

For the record, I've been name-camping Sosa since we picked the Fenris server to roll on.
He's like a level 5 Warlock. >->;;

In honor of all the Raid deaths that are yet to come... ...It's probably a good thing I'm not playing a Warlock. Clearly, I'm not to be trusted with Life Tap... Just thought you ought know Aeri died to life tap once. And...BUMP

I never read the LS chat lol. The genbu stuff is actually pretty funny.
You can also see a few names that should/would be familiar to people in the WoW guild.
FYI: Genbu was a turtle boss(god) that was meant for a small raid but could be defeated by a single RDM(red mage). That's why the "Land Worm" is teasing him.
