It ranked 6th in the best games ever....Tekken did not and for the 174,00 in one week, guess what... " Super Smash Bros. DX for GameCube was the #2 top-selling game in Japan for the week of Nov. 19-25 selling 358,000 copies" ...thats double of Tekken 5...and btw Tekken 3 outsold 5 by a shyt load...which was 2,681,000
and for that score....check a good scoring site like IGN.com

Where is it ranked 6th....Tekken 5 did sell 174,000 in the first week. And..if you divided the 20+ million units sold for tekkens 1-5.....the game sold on average better then any Super Smash Brother's game.
For selling only 2.74 million....that doesn't even come in the top 15 games sold on the last gen systems. Hell I can name 3 games off the top of my head that outsold that game instantly.
FFXII (went platinum in 4 days)
KH2 (went platinum in a month)
Nintendogs (tied for highest scoring of any game in history according to Famitsu)

Well I can Super Mario bros 3 beat any game ever sales wise....so I guess that beats Tekken....so its rather stupid to say Tekken beat that FFXII beat that...Super Mario 3 beat evrything ever. *Waits for haters to think of some other way to put Mario down*

Wait..you said last gen systems did you not? I set out to make a point...not to be a hater. I posted my opinion on the game..you posted some incorrect info..I fixed it..here we are. If you are trying to lure me into a battle of "Super Mario is the best selling charactor of all time" argument..then look elsewhere. The super Mario trademark with over 130 individual games have sold more then any genre of games in history. With 130 indivdual games how could you not? However...SSB didn't even make it on the top 10 lists of 2003, 2004, or 2005....and here is the list.

Where are you getting these numbers? Show sources Japanese Sales Records; Video Games1.97 million. Pokemon Outsold it. Final Fantasy 5-12 Outsold it. Street Fighter Outsold it. Even virtua fighter almost outsold it. |

Mist, I've learned never aruge about numbers with these two. They are they rare breed who use facts and numbers to back up thier ranting ^^;
I find it funny DBZ sold so much.
But, not surpising really.
Nauren, for those 2006 numbers, are they including pre-order? Because Zelda isn't out yet, iirc.

Also you notice that they didnt put the sale charts for the actual year Smash Bros came out...they are picking and choosing what info to show and what not to show...either way I dont care. I know who is #1 of gaming and I am sure more would agree with me than would disagree...

EB games has it listed on the best seller list already www.ebgames.com/default.asp?sect=1277I used the last 3 years in gaming..........thats like 1/6 of the entire home console video games history. If your referring to Nintendo..I need not argue..I like Nintendo..but sales proves that the top of the totem poll is Sony. The Gamecube didn't even break 20 million units sold compaired to PS2 110 million. I will own a PS3..I own a 360 already..and most likely I'll have a Wii....but I dont' argue numbers. I'm also not picking and choosing..I've no idea what year SSB came out...I picked the last 3 1/2 years of game data figuring it would be in there somewhere. |

SSB sold alot..I'm not doubting that...I still don't like it but what the hell...I liked Disgaea and that sold like 32 copies total lol.
and I saw where it placed 6th at Game Faqs..too bad thats a skewed result that was done by online voters. So people who visited the website could vote on it...its kinda like polls on CNN..they don't count because not everyone votes...not even 1/30th of video gamers vote

I love SSBM, don't get me wrong. it just didn't sell all that well, over all. It's like... Arc the Lad, or Lunar, they didn't break records for selling (I can't check the site, evil work computer), but you still have a good number of fans out there for those games. Thousand Arms, Valkarie Profile, 7th Saga(Super rare), Breath of Fire:Katt is hawt, Red Bull: It gives you wings, Act Raiser.
All great games, that didn't really sell well.
