I found this and thought I would post this for all you Nintendo fan boys:
GDC 06: Revolution to play Genesis, TurboGrafx games Next-gen Nintendo console's game-download service will span not just decades but former competitors' classic systems. SAN JOSE, Calif.--Everything old is new again. You only have to look at the success of Xbox Live Arcade to know that while gamers are demanding the hottest graphics and the latest innovations from their next-gen hardware, they also relish the opportunity to travel down memory lane--and they're willing to pay for that chance.
Nintendo knows this. The company announced at E3 last year that its forthcoming Revolution would help scratch the nostalgic itch with a "virtual console" that will let users download and play potentially hundreds of games from the company's back catalog, spanning all of its older systems--the Nintendo 64, SNES, and the hallowed NES.
At its GDC keynote this morning, Nintendo unveiled plans to flesh out the Revolution's classic-game library even beyond its own storied library. Today during his keynote speech at the 2006 Game Developers Conference, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that two former hardware rivals--Sega and Hudson--will make sizable chunks of their own back catalog available for download on the Revolution.
According to Nintendo, over 1,000 games for Sega's Genesis console, released in 1989, will be added to the Revolution's library. Joining them will be an undisclosed number of titles from the Hudson's TurboGrafx console, also released in 1989 and codeveloped by electronics giant NEC. Though no specific titles were mentioned, Nintendo said it is taking a "best of" approach in selecting which games will come to the Revolution.
Classic games by them nice I miss my Sega Genesis. I never owned a TurboGrafix 16 but if and when they do release these games I wil be downloading many games that I did not have a chance to buy back in the day..^^

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Satoru Iwata mentioned that the Revolution will not have a worldwide simultaneous launch, because it is not necessary

Nintendo has not revealed the Revolution's launch date yet. Past interviews and statements from company officials indicate that the console will launch in the second half of this year. Nintendo will likely reveal everything by the end of E3 2006.
Nintendo has stated that it would like to have a worldwide launch for the Revolution but has tempered that wish by acknowledging that production resources and logistics planning will likely dictate the final launch plans.
Historically, Nintendo launched its game consoles in Japan first, then followed up with a US release, and then a worldwide launch. Nintendo has whittled down the delay between market rollouts with each subsequent console launch--there were less than 60 days between the US and Japanese launches for the GameCube.

Nintendo is also yet to decide on a due date for The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. However, based on intensive market research and forsight into Nintendo's current trends, industry analysts predict that the next Zelda game for Revolution will be released somewhere in the second quarter of 2008. Twilight Princess will likely follow suit several years later during the Christmas shopping season of 2012.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata mentioned that the price of Revolution first party titles will be priced lower than US$50. The Revolution has 512MB of flash memory, a SD memory card slot and USB port as storage medium.
- Nintendo is planning to use the Virtual Console function in Revolution for not just classic games, but for new titles as well, such as some simple and addictive title like Tetris.
- RUMOR: EGM's rumor column reported that the sequel to a famous SNES/N64 title will appear on Revolution.
- Satoru Iwata said Revolution still possesses a number of new functions, which will be revealed at E3 in May 2006
I will be taking video and pictures of E3 on my new hand held phone. Just I'm not sure how I can post them on the EO website. Any help on doing this will be much appreciated...^^

The $50 dollar announcement was useless. Even 360 first party games are $50 unless they are special editions.
Secondly..the rumored specs for the Revolution are all but nice. In fact....horrible.
Broadway" CPU employed by the Revolution is clocked at 729MHz
GPU will clock in at a relatively modest 243MHz.
24MBs of main 1T-SRAM
64MBs of external 1T-SRAM
grand total of 88MBs on top of the 3MB texture buffer on the GPU.
Now due to technology....these stats are somewhat better then they seem. However..on paper...the Revolution runs on a Pentium 3 equal processor.
We can argue all day over the "power doesn't matter" aspect...but when its this much..it certainly does matter. We are talking over a 2Ghz difference on processor power alone.

I want it as well. So I hope the rumors are incorrect. But this would explain 2 things.
1. You could not pack real power equivalent of the PS3 or 360 in the Rev chassi. Would generate too much heat for such a small box.
2. The rumored price of $150-200 dollars.

This recent article bothers me some....Nintendo isn't my fav console...but I'd like to see competition kept up and I still want to see some good games come out for the Wii. Iwata also said that he is interested in non-gamers.....I mean I'm a gamer..whats he have for me?
E3: Iwata - Being No. 1 In Console Market Not Important A pair of interviews conducted at this week's E3 Expo in Los Angeles have Nintendo president Satoru Iwata in a reflective mood regarding his company's Wii launch later this year, indicating that, unlike Microsoft and Sony's more combative attitude, he isn't concerned with being the top next-gen console in terms of sales.
He commented, in an interview with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: "For our part, our goal isn't to have a certain percentage of the market or to be a certain number... Of course, we'd like to be No. 1, but we ourselves look at the results of what we've done, and we think the important thing is whether we've increased the number of people playing games and whether we've succeeded in breaking down the barriers to people playing in their homes."
In addition, Iwata gave a basic indication of when the pricing for the Wii (rumored this week by various media outlet to be set at around $249) will officially be announced, suggesting that "...the Wii will come out in the fourth quarter, so I expect to talk about it around summer."
In a separate interview with the Associated Press, Iwata further commented on how he felt Nintendo's tactics differentiated themselves from the competition, suggesting: "The approach to make more gorgeous-looking graphics ... to have the horsepower, to have much faster processing - they don't do anything to ask nongamers to play with a video game."
In his final AP comments, Iwata explained Nintendo's philosophy in almost holistic terms, showing why the company is such a stark contrast to Sony and Microsoft at this week's show: "Nintendo's mission is to try to make people happy, to try to
