When gamecube was released, they did a pretty good job.....2 months later, it all went down hill. Recently, their doing alot better with their newly released Starfox Game. It's just like the N64 version of starfox... kinda short, but with ALOT of replay value. 3 difficulties. I've seen several reviews about this game and people say "its too easy!!!!!" well, tell them to go and die in the legs, cause the first stage is about the only easy part. The last stage is a 7vs every enemy possible! (not 4, 7!)
There is only 2 things that diasppoint me about this game... 1: in starfox 64, you could fire as fast as ur finger could hit A. not in assault.. 2: Peppy doesn't say his ULTIMATE LINE!!! "Do a barrel roll!"
I beat Star Fox in about 2.5 hours in easy mode without all the medals..so just imagine the other difficulties.. this game is...dare i say? ACTION PACKED!!!

Star Fox Assault brought the series back to its roots unlike star fox adventures. Co developed by namco, this game featured action stages that were mind blowing. Piloting the arwing was a blast and the landmaster was fun to control as well. I miss havin peppy as a wingman though, now we have to deal with krystal

Maybe I'm crazy... I didn't like either. Loved Starfox for SNES, I remember it being the first 3D console game I ever played. When I finally got my Nintendo 64 for christmas oh so long ago, Starfox 64 was my first game. I loved it. Then we get... a Legend of Zelda rip-off with mostly pointless minigames that manages to break most everything else you would expect from a zelda clone? Oh well.
Assault was a step in the right direction, but why they let Namco produce it instead of taking it in-house, I'm not exactly sure... the mechanics were kind of broken, and it just lost a lot of the feeling that the first two games had, leaving an empty shooter you could blow through in three hours. We can always hope for another in-house sequel...
