Maybe I just want to sell my car and buy a game system.

Surely not 60 dollars +.....I mean..that would make them the same price as Xbox 360 games Only...on Blu-Ray rather then DVD9. Whats this world coming to lol. $600 dollars for PS3 with Blu-Ray or $900 dollars for stand alone Blu-Ray player hrmmmm lol.

Xbox games are still 50$, onyl a few are 60 and ive never seen one for more than that. Granted im not current with this stuff so i have no idea what blue ray is or why i should want it. The fact is prices keep going up, who knows when they'll stop. Either way fuck that i;'ll get the shit used ^^

LMAO
There's no way I'd pay $600 for a PS3. The $300 I paid for the PS2 when it came out was enough. Maybe I"ll buy a PS3 in 3 years when the price drops.
When they say "Blue Ray" do they mean switching over to blue powered CD lasers instead of red?
The blue lasers have a shorter wavelength than red, which means you can physically pack more info onto a DVD Disc than with a blue laser than with a red, but blue lasers require different materials to manufacture, and are currently more expensive.

Xbox 360 1st party games are $50, 3rd party are $60. PS3 is planning to follow the same pricing scheme.
PS2 with inflation would cost 484 dollars today.
and yes prices keep going up...its a fact of life...however video games have virtually remained unchanged for software prices. When I was a child and getting Atari games..some were as high as $40. Only $10 less then 1st party current gen games. That was over 20 years ago.
Yes the PS3 will use a Blue Laser. It does require a new media format. It will be a 2X Blu-Ray player.

prices keep going up cause they have slackers like Nedi, who sit around doing nothing but browsing the web or playing ffxi all day, designing games.
In an unrelated note, engineering prices have risen as well.

In an unrelated note, engineering prices have risen as well. Back in the Atari days, one guy would write the entire game: see www.warrenrobinett.com. Today...well, you've all watched the credits after finishing up an FF title. Edit: Speaking of developers - tightgraphs.ytmnd.com/graphicstribute.ytmnd.com/

In an unrelated note, engineering prices have risen as well. Aye, healthcare insurance premiums are up. Drug cost is up. Usership is up. Medicare payouts are down. Physician salary is down. Sad. :-(

I think the idea of PS3 being 600 bucks is ridiculous. i mean like someone said earlier in the thread 300 for PS2 was enough. PLEASE SONY LOWER THE PRICE!!! >.<
