here's a little something a friend of mine wrote, hopefully after reading it we can get some peace in this flame war...


In light of the current situation and a desire to get over all this since this is only a game after all, we offer hopefully a last post to put this to rest.

What's done is done, what's said has been said and now we are left with 2 LS's, EO and KoS and it's at least our desire to move on. For those who might think KinofSin was a new LS just made for this sake of taking EO members, it was not. It has existed for over 3 years and was created by Aerya 3 weeks after NA pc release. All old members have fond memories of it and that is why they had no problem coming back.

As to why many of your current members are leaving, please do not think it is merely a bank issue. Some people were and are clearly unhappy and not enjoying the game the way they used to or want to and when that happens there needs to be a change. It's a game, people have choices and a right to do what they feel will provide them with the most fun and the best environment. We have not and will not brainwash, lie or deceive people to "steal" them away. If people are interested we simply have explained our goal as a LS and offered them a place. From an outsider's perspective it is obvious why many of your current members are unhappy and it has nothing to do with money. People deserve the right to be respected, heard, treated with care even if their is disagreement and in regards to a LS, treated with much more equality than often gets shown. It's a game after all, it's hitting buttons on a keyboard or controller. Possibly our view of forming a LS on friends, freedom and equality is too good to be true and will come back to bite us, but it's what we feel will let us enjoy the game how we want to and any who share that desire are allowed to have that choice.

That brings us to why I think these new posts have come up. We truly hope to not be seen as the traitors, lier's, deceivers, bad guys, evil people stealing members and so on. We want our members to be able to make a choice without feeling that they will be viewed as traitors who left for the wrong reason and will be forgiven if they come back to EO. We hope people can be in a new LS and not receive numerous tells on why they left and feel like they did something bad by coming to KoS.

Now we realize that in reality this will not happen. People are people and putting ourselves in your shoes, I'm sure some would do what they could to try to keep any member they could. It's human nature, so no one has to like everyone, but let's try to be respectful of both LS's, of all the members and of all the choices that have been made. This goes for both sides and we have also tried our best and even admit making dumb statements by some members do to the heat of the moment. We have explained many times and are in agreement that our LS, KoS, will not be an EO hater, EO version 2 or just a place to vent in general. When people joined our LS, they need to leave it behind them and be a part of a new LS working to make it a successful and enjoyable place to be.

As has been said many times, this game remains just that... a game. What makes it different then most is the environment and people within it. Killing gods, gaining items and notoriety, obtaining levels may help a LS look good, but it's the members and environment they are surrounded in that will have the greatest impact on the experience they have on this game and therefore it is that alone which will be the deciding factor on their devotion and care for a LS. Both of these LS's clearly have members who fit this description and would follow on threw any event or occurrence and that's a good thing. It's the people on this game that will bring you back and the people that will make you put so much time and effort into a game and sadly the people that may also drive you nuts.

For any who are wondering, why post this now, it's in a desire to make sure our members and yours are treated fairly, given a choice and shown respect. I'm sure this post has not covered all issues and won't solve all the problems, but it might help in some way.

In closing, it seems the majority from both sides just want to move on. We simply ask to be treated not as traitors, deceivers or lier's and that our current members and those interested in changing not be treated this way as well. We're all here to try our best to enjoy the game, at times (often it seems) we become far too involved in it and it takes over, but again, what's done has been done. Feelings have been hurt, animosity has been shown, really sad treatment of people has shown through... so let's put a stop to it. So please don't flame this post. Both LS's deserve to exist and as has been said before we wish both sides the best of luck and please let's have some fun on this game.
