I have -0- Hope for the Superman movie. WHY DC would think it'd be OK to start where the old movies left off is INSANITY.
Why dont they just make Batman Begins start off with Bat-Nipples and blue-neon Batmobiles. blegh

they fucked up Psylocke worse then any other character. Fucked up Quill pretty bad, and Arclight bad too. I didn't even realize Psylocke was in the movie until you mentioned it. I looked up the picture online, and saw some other ppl like Callisto, who I didn't at all recognize, or remeber them being identified. I give the effects a 10/10, but effects don't really do it for me like a good storyline does.

I can't say the story was bad... They could of made the movie 3 hours though. Or jsut split it into 2. I just feel like they packed it with too much for an hour and 45 minute movie. It was an awesome movie though, all 3 of them were.
And damnit! I didnt stay until after the credits...

not to mention Jubilee has been in all 3, and only mentioned or addressed in part 2. And Kitty was also in all 3, played by 3 different actresses.
And, the stunning lack of Gambit.

I've read some comic books. Most of my knowledge is based off of the cartoon series, wich as far as I can tell was pretty damn accurate...
It's the time line I think... Things don't seem to fall into place properly. None of the relationships or actual team has been formed...

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, I've seen it twice, and would go again if someone asked. But I hated what they did with certain characters dying. In the books, doesn't Prof X die and become Onslaught? That could be an amazing movie. The other two don't die IIRC, and yeah - burying Cyclops was pretty sad. Not much of a comic buff myself, but I know a little bit about them.
Storm was outstanding, and I don't mind them going with Wolverine - it's understandable because he's probably the most marketable of the XMen. Thought they did a great job with the Beast too, especially in the final battle, with his acrobatics stuff. Reminded me of the one comic with him bouncing all over the cover.
Everyone wants more development (Morlocks, Marauders) but the intent is to appeal to Joe movie guy, not the Marvel audience. If the movie was 3 hours long with lots of character development, I think they'd lose at the box office.
Another limitation is special effects. Animating the super powers at that level of quality is prohibitively expensive. I'm sure if the movie had a billion dollar budget, we'd see much more. If you felt limited watching, imagine how they felt having to pick and choose what they had to cut due to cost.
My father has been a huge Marvel fan since he was a kid, and these movies are a dream come true for him. I find the financials interesting: Marvel makes so much more money off their movies than their comic books. It's wrong in a sense, but that's the evolution of entertainment for ya.
The Ghost Rider previews looked great - can't wait for that! Surprised Cage took the role, which tells me it's going to be an outstanding flick.
Code - was Vertigo the girl who could move fast and sense other mutant powers? I played the CCG Overpower competitively back in the day, and won the Canadian Nationals tournament (and a bunch of others) using Marauders, Starjammers, Heroes For Hire, and Thing in reserve. I miss that game...miss destroying Fantastic Four decks more specifically ;D

That was Callisto, Locke.
Yeah, they are starting at the end of Superman II. But as long as Superman is hawt, I don't care ;p. Plus, Parker Posey is going to be in this one. The indie queen gets her first major motion picture, woot!

Onslaught was a long story line, dont remember it involving a direct death tho.. but can't really get into it for fear of spoilers. In the movie, Callisto was the girl who could move really fast (ala Quicksilver), and detect other mutant abilities. In the comics, Caliban was able to detect other mutants powers, and as for speed there were a couple, most notably Quicksilver. Callisto in the comics really only had super strength and agility and stuff, I think she could heal really quick, like Wolverine. Her big thing was she was the leader of the Morlocks. She also had a thing for Angel in the comics too. Another interesting bit: Omega Red was credited in the movies; but he was cut from the final film. Alot of the Morlocks (Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants in the movie, they were pretty much the Morlocks) were branded with the Omega logo. Apparently this was to show who "owned" them. Who they bowed too. Quill (Credited as "Kid Omega") had it, as did Callisto and Arclight. Callisto's was the most visable seen here:

Onslaught on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onslaught_%28comics%29Xavier has had various injuries, but never died (well if he did recently I never heard about it). His body was cloned one time and his mind transplanted ( so for a while he regained the ability to walk ). Onslaught had something to do with Xavier's mind causing a creature to be created because Xavier was depressed about erasing Magneto's mind ( Magneto eventually got it back). I don't know if Xavier was Onslaught, or if Onslaught was his own seperate thing. Haven't read the x-men in a few years, since they killed Colossus, Psylocke, and went to all that "New X-Men" stuff. So whatever has happened since I don't know about. Edit: Just went and read a bunch on Wikipedia. What do you know, they resurrected Colossus and Psylocke, not to mention Magneto after being beheaded. Phoenix also died and came back again. Now I remember why I quit reading lol. The death & resurrection thing was way overdone and they kept on changing the people who appeared as members every 5-10 issues.

if I remember correctly; and again without spoiling anything; Onslaught, and the condition of Prof X was as they explained Jean Greys situation, and mental... conditioning in the movie. if that makes any sense.
