Ok... explain to me how this is possible

So i was an a ver long skill up party last night and towards the end this happend



two lvl 1 skillchains right on top of each other... this made everyone in the party dumbfounded. Is this even possible? i mean they literaly happend bam! bam!

you can follow 1 level 1 sc with another, just like you can follow a level 1 with a level 2.

You just can't go from a 2 to a 1.

Where this limits is sometimes weaponskills take up 2 categories. The first skillchain locks it into 1 category, so it can't open in the 2nd.

For instance, if I close impaction with howling fist, it won't open a reverberation chain anymore.

yeah yeah, i get all that stuff, but wouldn't the 4 weaponskills mix with each other... isn't that pretty near impossible to hit 2 weapon skills boom boom like that right on top of each other.... i can see it happening going 1>2 because that is an order to it. it'd have to be like Weaponskil(chain1)went >> [weaponskil(chain2)went] >>weaponskill#2(chain1)close'creation>> [weaponskill#2(chain2)close'creation..... how does that happen i just don't get it, wouldn't the weaponskills interupt eachother?

i kind of see what you are saying i just never knew that the game locked weaponskils in to categories to allow that kind of stuff to happen... first time i've ever seen it and about everyone in the party also

yeah i set shit like this up all the time as sam, in one of my previous xp pts the sc was the following

Tachi: Gekko > Wheeling Thrust (Fusion lvl 2) > Swift Blade (Gravitation lvl 2) > Tachi: Gekko (Darkness lvl 3)

where basically every other fight we did this SC about when the pld had TP, normally jus did Gekko > Wheeling for Fusion during the odd rounds. the only thing u can not do is go from a higher lvl skillchain to a lower lvl skill chain hence u cant go an do distortion into detonation, but u could go lvl 1 > 2 > 3. or one of the basic early skill chains a Sam will use one they get tachi: Jimpu would be
Jimpu > Jimpu(detonation) > Jimpu(Scission) > Jimpu(detonation) > Jimpu(scission) then if u have others wit Tp u can continue the chain, but this is kinda difficult for those who havent played sam, or been in lots of pts wit em as they would prolly fuck up an go when they arent supposed to, lol

thats not what is odd, what is odd is the rapidity of succession of the skillchain and it wasn't a 1>2 type it was to seperate unrelated skillchains going off right affter each other ron the same mob

Depending on the weaponskills used, it's possible to do a lv1 skillchain after a lv1. Picking some random weaponskills from the PDF on adennak.com, I could get those two weaponskills with 3 weaponskills (summoner blood pacts in this case) by doing:

Barracuda Dive (Lev) > Axe Kick (Shiva) [Induration] > Shock Strike (Ramuh) [Impaction]

I think in one party I was in a few weeks ago, we randomly pulled off 3 lv1 back-to-back skillchains (using 4 weaponskills) at least once.

yeah in that case it was 2 skillchains with 4 weapon skills

My guess is either

a) You had some lag and the sc's were actually only from 3 ws. Every weapons skill that closes induration also opens impaction. They were not back to back, but appeared that way on the screen.

b) This is a little trickier. Spinning scythe is an AOE ws that opens both impaction and induration. Were you fighting more than one crab? Could 2 people have chained off that off different crabs?

Or...what if that's something nobody knew about AOE ws? Maybe it's possible to skillchain off of them with more than one ws, as long as you're in the time window. Speaking for mnk, our AOE ws sucks, but if you could open multiple sc's with it, maybe it'd be worth it.

lol, i'm about 80% sure that it was 4 weapon skills creating 2 skillchains..... maybe A) could be correct but i don't see how everyone in the party thought "wtf" but then again most of them were bozos i.e. Sirus, and it was defintley one crab. but i don't know just thought that was a little weird and learned a little more about all the crazy stuff you can do with skillchains.... always thought it was pretty straightforwarrd but i guess it can be a little more indepth
