I scanned the covers of my FFVI doujinshi collection, and my friend is hosting them on his site. There's 126 scans, and some of the artwork is just gorgeous. Here's the link (click Doujinshi Covers for the thumbs): www.fantasyanime.com/finalfantasy/ff6/ff6art.htm

I'll post a few samples. My favorite: Locke! (surprise!) This book was done by a popular doujinshi artist who does outstanding work. Since FFVI is so old, there's not a lot books this well done out there. Here's Celes! I partied with a JP WHM named Celes long ago. I think she had black hair though >< There's quite a few tributes to the Locke/Celes prison scene where he rescues her throughout the books. And of course, Terra. The other main character. I love the artwork of her in Esper form, but there's not much of it. Here's a group cover with Locke, Celes, Terra, Edgar and Sabin:

Setzer and Celes. This is one of my favorite covers. Too bad it's Setzer instead of Locke. It's a pretty high quality cover with a cool texture to it. The pink drawing in the background (chibi Terra and Edgar, I think) is foil - pretty sharp. Yup - Edgar x Relm. Quite a lot of that going on! Sometimes Relm is depicted as older and they hook up, other times she's young and Edgar kind of fights off her advances. Here's a Locke X Terra cover, very light though. She does convert into Esper form in this book for quite a few pages. Here's an Edgar x Terra book. Edgar gets all the chicks! And dudes too...there's a bunch of yaoi with him hooking up with Setzer, Locke or his brother - Sabin (o.O).

I'll finish with a few more group pics: Here's the whole crew: Locke, Celes, Sabin, Edgar, Mog, Relm, Gau, and Terra. The back cover has Setzer, Cyan, Shadow, Strago and Gogo. Celes, Terra and Setzer (who is in Kingdom Hearts 2) on the front: Locke, Sabin and Edgar on the back -

But the FF with Cecil and Rydia and Kain is the greatest FF ever... A very very close runner up is Locke, Terra, Sabin.... OMFG THE STORIES!!!!! Cecil/Rydia = FFIV. I played FF1, loved it, but didn't really play any RPG's for many years. Then I played FFIV and thought it was the greatest game ever. Moved on to VI...liked it even more. That hooked me on the genre, but I haven't enjoyed anything as much as VI. Xenogears, Suikoden 2 and Baldur's Gate 1 (PC) are my other favorites. Can't wait for FFVI Advance, but there's no word on a release date yet ><
