the end. apparently they had exchanged not just emails but voicemails as well. this has flown around the legal community up here and it is true, these people do exist and it is not a hoax. but to see the reactions from some of the other firms who received this email is just hysterical. i won't be surprised if this girl had to move in order to get a job lol. anyways, i hope you enjoyed the lovely glimpse into my world

OMG!! That was just rediculous, but funny. After reading that personality, I wouldn't have hired her anyway. But just from an HR standpoint, you just don't write that 1) in an email, and 2) in that manner. In one of my classes we had mock interviews, and one group had to act out a bad interview by doing all the illegal and not needed stuff, and that just reminds me of it. It made me cringe as an HR person.

Blatent disrespect and corporate action/reaction aside; were I any HR or CEO of a large firm, I would have hired her on principal and honesty alone. Ordering stationary, cards, and a work environment on presumption alone is unfounded, and alittle self righteous. Given her attack at the salary offered was immature, but his response regarding the preperation of her space is whiney at best.

Altho, this could be why I'm not in HR or CEO of anything, let alone a large firm.

Ah, I read it wrong. I didn't read it as she had accepted the position and changed her mind; I read it as if she had gone to a bunch of interviews, left with a "Great!" and he took the next step. She then turned down the offer.

The thing that I love the best about this is that in the legal world, you make or break yourself. That's why when you see two attorneys representing different parties in a case, they are against each other in the courtroom, but very rarely will ever be disrespectful to each other.

Even if you're from a competing firm, you are still very polite to other attorneys for exactly one reason: You will have to work with these other people every year for the rest of your life. That's why legal communities are usually very tight knit. Word travels fast when someone is a douchebag

I just can't understand how she doesn't realize that this interaction she had with this firm would be leaked. Even if she wants to start her own firm, she's still screwed. She has no choice but to move to another state.

I agree they were both out of line with their emails, and I can just imagine what their phone conversations were like. But you can't just hire someone because they are honest. You have to look at other things that would probably be more important. And in businesses that pride themselves on reputation has to take all that into consideration. And I think that most places do get everything ready for the new hire before their first day.

Me and Nauren have arguements about this type of stuff all the time. I keep telling him he needs to go to school for it, but then we would clash too much and probably get divorced lol.

I had a long post that was better than this, but then my time ran out and I had to sign back in and it lost the post- damn it!!!!
