So apparently I got a beta invite, does everyone get an invite or something? Just seems random since I JUST submitted my system info for beta testing a few days ago and specifically deselected StarCraft as one of the games I'm interested in testing - but then today I got my invite (yes it's valid, the game's showing up in my battle.net account).
Guess I'll install it and poke around a bit /shrug.

meh, I'm no longer even looking to buy this title anymore especially with the 10$ price increase. bliz/activision can shove the title up their collective asses as far as I am concerned now. For those that actually got the price lock for a pre-order thats still awesome for them though. I'll prolly wait till either all 3 titles are out and you can buy em bundled for like 39.99$ or if they drop the price of the game within a few months of release I might get it. Haha or FF 14 may get out before SC2 ever gets released and no one will care about it anyhow

yea Bobby Kotick loves to raise prices. He raised the price of Modern Warfare 2 in Europe by 10 Euros. Raise the price of the Modern Warfare 2 map expansion by $5. But he knows people will pay it. While he is correct...he is quickly becoming the most hated icon of the video game industry.

Yeah, I have no idea why that game gets so much hate.
I really enjoyed the original game and I think Supcom 2 is a better game. I'm an RTS veteran and I'll be the first to say that complicated for the sake of complicated doesn't automatically equal "deep" gameplay (I'm looking at you, economic micromanagement in Starcraft 2.)
I feel like the streamlined gameplay in Supcom 2 makes for a superior gameplay experience, but I'm an opinionated bastard.
Speaking of this, can anyone in the beta comment on this? The economic changes (specifically, the economic "super abilities") are a real deal-breaker for me...

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but then again I'm a pretty novice player and haven't played SC I for MANY MANY years, but I don't really see anything different from the original game other than some new units and cooler graphics/better AI.

First part is off topic, we were talking about Supreme Commander 2, which is an entirely different RTS. (Came out pretty recently.) Second part, I'm referring to the abilities like the Terran's researchable "click" ability that increases their income rate temporarily. Is that sill in the game?

Ya I was quoting for the second part but too lazy to edit out XD I'm not sure if that's still in the game, but in my experience games don't last long enough for you to really get much researched.

There is still the MULE (if that's what you were referring too? lol) + you can have 2 MULES and have like sa shitload of minerals, the terrans are minerals heavy so i dont see it be an issue.
