I've been seriously considering getting one of these guys for some years now. I don't want one in an apartment but when I get a house...I'll most likely have one. They generally cost about 2000 dollars but they live up to 23 years. So its a near life long companion. they are very agile and fast. and very affectionate. They however got some mean teeth if you make them angry and about an 8 inch long tongue for the lady's. Their diet consist of fruit...mostly bananas...up to 100 pounds of banana's a month. So could be semi expensive to feed. I really want one though. these are also alled "honey bears" They are from they Procyonid family which is a bearlike family of raccons, ringtailed cats red pandas and regular pandas. www.blue-n-gold.com/halfdan/osito.htm

Why not just get a pet tiger? ;p cause you would have to feed it whole cows and obnoxious children... and unfortunately whole cows are expensive and its illegal to feel obnoxious children to tigers /sigh

Here in Delaware, Pennsylvania area..if you volunteer at the Zoo for a certain period of time (years) you can get an exotic animal lisence in which it would be legal to own tigers (depending on its area of captivity and local laws). I often thought about it but the Zoo is like 45 min away from me and its hard to get time to work there.

They are semi smart...in general...they poop from the highest part of the house they can climb to...so you make sure the highest spot they climb....has something underneath....You have to make them a personal jungle gym of sorts.
