lol Funny
well i dont agree with the way Max handled the situation....I dont RP...honestly think it's for geeks...i would RP to tease RPing but that's it.
I guess these 2 were just having fun but some ppl really can't separte RL with game...and it's sad. it's hard to tell who is like that and who is not... one of the reasons i hate this game... it too hard to tell anything about anyone. maybe Max was feeling the way i do and had a bad day and couldn't take it anymore... just to defend him a little...you can never tell anyone's situation in RL and how they react in game.
well good for laughs anyway. i dont know where u guys find this stuff...i only goto FFXI web site and EO.

He was talking to get a reaction, as most people do in this game. If I had been there I would have asked (in /tell) for them to take it to /tell and then just left or filtered it out or ignored it. No need to drag it out because that just makes you look stupid.

wow... people are stupid.... that max guy obviously was looking to start a fight, otherwise he coulda just /blisted them.
personally, I only role-play pirates and tarus. cause its funny-wunny. no offensively offense to them, but they sounded like stiffy-wiffy diplomatic diplomats of rival-wival nations complimenting each other before trying to talky-walky about their problemactic problems >,>

I did some RP in ultima online on a guild a joined, they had a 'Huns' kind of setting and characters named after hun personalities, so since I joined later and had red hair I was a slave from another tribe who could witchcraft lol all we pretty much did was go to a city and pick fight with guilds we were in war, I´d just sit in the back and say to the party "let´s kick their asses!" lol

Wow... I want to start RPing again >< I had a RP LS but lost it when I was deleted ; ; But that Max guy was an ass, if he didn't like the RPing, he could have went away... its not like he needed to be around the temple or anything....

Uh oh, Kaifu is lapsing into fragmented sentences again...
I've RPed outside of game for the story value before, if you've ever liked acting or theater, there's no reason to really see it as a 'geeky' obsession. When you get into a good role-playing session, it becomes about advancing the story and seeing how everything unfolds... it's not much different from reading a good novel or watching a film that moves you.
Problem is, FFXI is, by nature, a very elitist game. The sheer ammount of information you have to convey while doing things like events or exp partying basically necessitates the use of in game lingo in order to communicate effectively. If you're good at roleplaying, you can do that without breaking a sweat, but it can get cumbersome... VERY fast. Sometimes it's just easier to play the game and not even worry about it. And frankly... there just aren't enough people interested to do it effectively, so it's kind of an uphill struggle... you can never expect people to partipate with you if you do choose to do so. Your best bet would be finding a roleplaying LS (they do exist) or accepting whatever interest in participation people give you. :/
