Well, I've put it off as long as I can, but it's time for me to bid you all farewell.
I held off until now because I had a lot of things I wanted to do with the friends I've made and the friends I've had for a while in the linkshell. Even though I never really was very keen on the idea of EO becoming an HNM shell, I know everyone else wanted it, and I wanted to see them all happy in the group's ventures.
I know it sounds sappy, but I never expected my first god hunt to be here, let alone anywhere; I never thought I'd be killing gods. I was thinking about it the other night; the last time we fought Genbu, we took him down in what I thought was great time. I still remember how crazy the first fight we had with him was. It was like a half hour long, wasn't it? Something nuts, and even though my group only saw about six or seven minutes of action I still enjoyed it. I enjoyed it because it was good seeing my old friends happy.
I remember joining this shell the first time, barely in my 40's, and immediately making friends with Broken and Snow, Jon, and a few other people that are no longer with the shell. I remember partying with Snow, Broken and Gladius down in Quicksand Caves; hell, I even remember Tempus "MPKing" Broken in Crawlers Nest.
I also remember more or less being forced to leave by someone who didn't have their facts (or their head, for that matter) straight. I never wanted to, and I should have seen the road that person was on back then -- it would have saved some close friends of mine a lot of suffering. And when I came back after several months, I was welcomed back like nothing had ever happened at all.
This time, though, it is of my own will. I'm not leaving out of anger, or disappointment, or any of that. I'm leaving because I made a promise to a friend that I care very much about, and you all know how I am with promises.
Just wanted to say a few parting words to some people before I wrap this up.
Haya -- those random parties you would set up and invite me to rocked, man. You're easily one of the best ninjas I've partied with in the 70's, and I hope the parties don't stop.
Jon -- You've got to be the most patient person in the world, dude. Anytime I had to rant about something, or I had something on my mind, you'd listen with the patience of a saint. I really appreciate it, and I appreciate how good of a friend you've been.
Broken and Snow -- Ahh, my irreplacable and inseparable Taru tag team of chaos. It's always been a blast doing things with you, and I'm sorry we never got to win Riverne #A01. I'll be leveling Ninja again soon, and if you guys still want, I'd be happy to do CoP with you. Hell, anything you need, or even if you just want to chat, you know how to reach me.
Destro -- For whatever arguments/disagreements/fuck you's we had before, just wanted you to know I'm sorry.
Lance and Gatsu -- I'm trusting you guys to keep kicking ass, okay? I'm gonna have someone check up on you every once in a while, and if you're not still beating ass I'm gonna slap ya! ;P j/k, guys. Seriously, you two are great. Way better than I ever could be. Keep it up and make 'em proud.
Markus -- Sorry for all the times I pestered you with random /tells, I know you're assaulted with them every time you're on. I just want to thank you for everything.
Panther and Chaucer -- You two both know how to find me, so if you ever want to party or even just chat, come hunt me down. I'll be happy to do whatever with you. You two are like my real family to me, and I hope you continue to rock it hardcore. And don't stop owning people, Panther. ;P
Everyone else -- Thank you for tolerating me. I know I'm not exactly pleasant a lot of the time, and you guys still treating me like a friend means a lot. You guys really are cool, I want you to know that.
Well, that's about it from me... sorry about the long-ass post >_> I just had a lot to say, I guess...
Good luck in sky, good luck on the ground, good luck going for sea and such. Please do keep in touch; my AIM is listed on this site, as is my email and anything else you'd need to contact me.
