I had Zelda in mind, just tough to make the top 10. Maybe I should of written up the whole final fantasy series in one spot Also another franchise that actually got me into role playing, Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in the states). This game was made by Enix before Square acquired them(duh, SquareEnix). I think I started on that somewhere between 1988-1990. My first RPG ever.

I don't get it, I just started playing Uncharted a couple weeks ago, and so far I'm only a few hours in but the dynamics of the game are boring, wonky, and a little ridiculous. Easy as fuck prince of persia style puzzles and jumping/climbing followed by unnecessarily difficult firefights where its you against an endless horde of henchman for no reason. Is there something I'm missing? If not, fuck this game.

I felt dirty when I realized I left this off the list. Best game in the series, though Ocarina of Time gets major points for essentially pioneering the formula in a 3D environment (and doing a damned good job at the same time.) Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I haven't played Uncharted yet, myself, but I know that Earthbound - one of my favorite games, has several glaring faults or annoyances... but the entire package is so endearing to me, I can't help but love it.

Is there something I'm missing? If not, fuck this game. You sir....are silly. The dynamics of the game are that of cinimatic quality. Sure you have to suspend belief but nobody complains when they are shooting the zombie aliens that turned to ghost and from the future when they touched a magic stone in other games. The puzzles are easy. I won't argue that. There are a few spots where you have to stop and think but over all pretty easy. Hell if you wait too long it tells you how to get past them. The henchmen aren't endless....are not that difficult (unless you play on killer mode) and there is plenty of reason they are there. The game is as suspenseful and entertaining as any Indiana Jones Treasure Hunting comical background great acting movie would be. Not only that...the fact that they use the original voice actors (all famous ones I might add) to do the motion capturing really brings forth a solid ambiance to the game that makes it feel that much more real and makes empathy that much easier. whats different from this and any other third person shooter on the market?

Ok ok, I agree that the visuals/landscapes/graphics are great, and the voice-acting is most certainly spot on, but I just find the game to be extremely repetitive thus far. I swear I have to fight a horde of 30+ guys every few minutes, and I don't find the battles that much fun. It doesn't seem to matter where I take cover, I'm still getting shot or dodging grenades and god forbid I go hand-to-hand cause once I pop out I'm donezoz. Other 3ps on the market? RE4/5, and Gears of War/2 come to mind, and frankly I think they do it better in each and every way. I'm gonna finish this game, and I'll probably pick up Uncharted 2, I just hope they make it a little less battle heavy and a little more puzzling I guess.

RE5 battles were bland as bland can be...only for the fact you can't run or walk while shooting........
As far as Gears of War.....its the same EXACT type of play as Uncharted. Its pure stop and and pop mixed with some run and gun. The cover abilities are almost identical. Only uncharted doesn't have the cliche steroid freak space marine look....
What you are not used to, which Uncharted displays unequivically of other shooterss is the AI. Its amazing. On harder difficulties you'll find that enemies will not wait for you to pop your head out but instead will work in teams to flank you.
As far as Uncharted 2. They did say they are leaning towards some additional puzzles. They said Uncharted 1 was 70/30 gun fights to puzzles and that part 2 will be 60/40.
hehe and you haven't hit the story twist yet....I'm eager to hear your opinion on it.
A few things I agree with you on is that the fire fights could have been done better though. Many of my complaints have been fixed in Uncharted 2 already. The aiming reticle and its accuracy is fixed. Loving it in Uncharted 2. Head shots are no problem.
The melee has gotten much better. I didn't like to melee in Uncharted 1 but in part 2 its gotten cleaner with more possibilities.
As far as the enemies....from what I've seen...they are mean. They have different armor levels in Uncharted 2. Some are ninja sneaky and choke you from behind before you ever know they are there...some carry riot shields. Alot more diverseness in part 2...but it will be harder I think.

Yet in these games I found it so much more rewarding tearing up zombies/aliens, there was just this great feeling of satisfaction coupled with exploding heads and blood everywhere. With uncharted I feel like I'm emptying clips into their faces and then the one time I fire randomly their head pops off. Oh well. I've been away from the PS3 for the last couple weeks (been living in NYC temporarily) and I'll be away from it for another week, but I promise to finish it! EDIT: also, the cover system in Gears/2 is FAR superior to that of uncharted.. just sayin'

EDIT: also, the cover system in Gears/2 is FAR superior to that of uncharted.. just sayin' Oh come on now...you can't make such a claim and not say why. It is the EXACT same cover system. hell its the same button! Circle to cover...direction + circle to bounce to another cover. Same....freaking...thing....identical. Only with Drake you didn't have to worry about his deltoids blocking the camera view. also...blood/guts/etc overrated.
