Rumors are SE is supposed to be announcing some things in this conference. Idk, maybe a release date for XIII or maybe (least I hope) some news of their new MMORPG.

They did say that they have an idea for their next FF7 compilation. No hints yet. We will see the new SE MMO and E3 in June this year.

they prolly do it on purpose for business reasons
this way they probably get to release it earlier, so they begin making money faster. And they get to deal with a smaller population at first, so easier to fix problems, and the game is more balanced in time for a wider release.
Not really fair or worth it to the people on the shortstick though. Less of an issue if they do their servers the conventional way - but I really liked how FFXI handled servers, mixing everyone from everywhere - it was pretty cool playing with people who couldn't speak English.

Specifically mentions MMO's and FF games. They also promised to show more support for NA (which is true with all of these 360 exclusives) since we are a bigger gaming country now.

True, but they've been saying that for years. They can say whatever they want, but historically they've shown that the safe bet is not with universal release dates.
At some point in the future, they may actually embrace the larger NA market, but Japanese publishers, historically, have been extremely reluctant to introduce new franchises or IPs into the American market. The same is true for American publishers and the overseas market, very few know how to actually market and sell a game in Japan.
Seeing as how companies on both sides of the fence are obligated to their shareholders to actually sell games, they're probably going to continue going where the easy money is. I wouldn't plan on seeing this kind of change on any widespread level any time during this console generation.

they just opened their first US office in Cali. They just bought Eidos which is a UK company. The Last Remnant was developed with NA as the lead selling country for the game. All RPG's they have released thus far have been for the 360 (minus a few quarky ones for the DS/Wii).
Hell..The Last Remnant launched in NA first!
Star Ocean IV launched in Japan and NA within days of each other.
Same for Infinite Undiscovery
I'm missing where their promise hasn't held up recently.
The fact of the matter is...they realize Japan is a niche gaming community of mostly handhelds now. They are moving their console games out.
