Over the holidays I glued myself to this game. I enjoyed the game a lot but like Markus said the ending wasn't all that. It also took me a good 2-3 hours of playing to master the combat system, idk maybe it was because I was a Rogue Fencer but death came often and swiftly at the beginning. (I'm replaying as an arcane warrior and I barely ever die now period, it's almost too easy). Now on to the d/l content. I think it's real bullshit to charge 6 bucks to play one dungeon or w/e. So I have not touched any of the DL content except for the Golem one, which had a free code when I bought it but I never got to see it. (I guess you are supposed to not destroy the Dwarven Anvil in order to see this content, otherwise I have no clue). If I would of known they were going to have an expansion I would of never chosen to die at the end of the game......Somehow starting with another Grey Warden from Orlais in the new expansion does NOT attract me at all....Guess I'll have to beat it again with my arcane warrior and export him. EDIT: I just remembered that I can simply replay that last battle on my Rogue and send Allistair's bitch ass to his death...SO I CAN export my rogue to the new content...YAY!! lol) I can also guess which character is coming back.....After choosing to die to end the game, at one point when they go into what each character did after the battle. For Morrigan it was something like... "As to Morrigan no one knows what happened to her after leaving Boedy before the last battle", but some do report "Seeing a witch in the far off mountains carrying a child, some say she went to bed with the mighty Boedy himself(me)........(And you know I had to hit that a few times in game ) So I'm guessing it'll be her. I also noticed the expansion comes out 3/16, couldn't they have chosen a better time....I do like the game but it wont see daylight while FFXIII is out. Maybe it can fill the gap between XII and XIV nicely thou.

If this is coming out in spring 10, IDK how they are hoping to put out XIV the same year. (Considering they want the BETA to run for 6 months it is rumored). Unless the BETA is going to be Japanese only. I can see the japanese XIV dropping say fall 10, because they get 13 this year, but for us....IDK, looks like early 2011 to me.

I always digged this game, I was going to buy it day one, but then again I just don't have the fucking time to play anymore. Then add on top of that all the other cool games out now/coming soon, like MW2 and AC2 and it adds up that I'll buy the games and not play them for the longest time, so this time I'm not buying them lol.
As far as graphics, I never gave a rats ass about graphics on a role playing game. So long as the story rocks, the shit can look like atari 2600 for me. I like how you have multiple answers you can give to the NPC's too, that imo is awesome. I think I'll pick this up around xmas time and I'll take a week off from work and just glue myself to it.
As far as DLC, I think it is a dickhead move by EA to charge for DLC(specially DLC that's available when the game comes out, thats just penny pinching imo).....But, idk around your way but here the game is already down to 49.99 brand new........So I guess you can spend the 10 bucks and pretty much pay the same 65 dollars for the dlc and the game. Now for those of you that got it day one and paid 59.99....EA should give ya a refund!!! (or free dlc) lol

I kinda like Gambits, it does make it feel like you are playing online a little, but they aren't as refined as they could be imo, its hard to make them work the way you want them to, but I think it's a nice idea. And yea the hunts were SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fucking harder than the regular bosses, I don't really get it.
As far as the story, ever since FFVII I pretty much had to force myself to beat the rest of the games, none of them had a "great" story, it was more like meh....
All I know is that the stories of the first FF's were much better and kinda "sucked" me into the game, that hasn't happened since FFVII for me.
I also wish they stopped experimenting with different systems all the time as far as getting your skills are concerned. FFXII is total fail with that stupid system, I didn't like X's either. I say fuck those systems and just level up oldschool style, X level = unlock x ability.

This is probably the only game in my memory that EVERY single person I know is getting. I just came back from Gamestop, both my friends that work with me got it, and they don't even game like that lol.
I should buy this game today, but I don't have the time to play much it seems, I know my Son would be one happy camper if I did though.

This game is getting lots of hype. Could it be something for us off-liners to do while we wait for XIV? What do you guys think?.
I'm getting tired of replaying all my old shcool rpgs already.

Actually after doing a little research, (very little for that matter) it seems I can answer my own questions.
MGS ps3 only plays some ps2 games.
PS1 games they use an emulator and what you see is what you get? Wild arms runs excellent on it, FFVII sucks balls.(Wild arms I d/l from the ps store, FFVII is the original discs.
Correct me if I'm wrong please.

Regarding BC:
I have the Metal Gear PS3 (80gb) BC with PS2 (not as good as the original 60gb or so I hear).
Anyway, I tried putting in my FFVII and it does not look very good at all. It is playable but looks horrible, the toons looked like boxes moving around(if you ever had/played Atari, that's what it looks like lol),hence the reason I still have a PS2(which my kid dropped and now wont read discs).
So question:
Is there a way to make the PS1 games look/play better? Like in the XMB? Honestly I didn't even check any options since it looked shitty I just popped it out and went to my PS2.
PS: Reason I'm writing this is because I'm not totally sure if the PS3 I have uses an "Emulator" for BC with PS2.
<--- Not very sophisticated with computers.

How did I forget Zelda... The first two were crazy and Ocarina of Time was just wow. Epon <3 <3 Also... Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3. Amazing. And the one for SNES, w/e it's called again. EDIT: Lol and Secret of Mana. WTB another multiplayer MMO!!! That was so awesome... Wow totally forgot Secret of Mana, that game was indeed awesome. I had Zelda in mind, just tough to make the top 10. Maybe I should of written up the whole final fantasy series in one spot Also another franchise that actually got me into role playing, Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in the states). This game was made by Enix before Square acquired them(duh, SquareEnix). I think I started on that somewhere between 1988-1990. My first RPG ever.

A. 1. The Madden series when it was for Genesis/PS1/2. Haven't bought any for the PS3, as for some reason I just stopped playing sports games like 8yrs ago. 2. FFIV 3. FFVI 4. FFVII 5. Chrono Trigger 6. Wild Arms 7. NBA live (For Genesis/PS1/2 8. Ninja Gaiden 9. Heroes over Europe (Old WWII flying sim for PC) 10. Super Mario Brothers
B. 1.FFIV 2.FFVI 3.FFVII 4.Chrono Trigger 5.Wild Arms
C. Haven't played much of anything. MGS4, Assassins Creed(old but I just bought it this past year) and CoD5 are the only games I've played this year for the PS3. I just basically been replaying all my old school rpg's, FF series, wild arms series, and Chrono Trigger.

Looks bugged out. I'm now playing Wild Arms, been a while having a blast again. So of course I bought part 3 and 4(looking for part 2). And I'm almost done with part 1 and wham! My daughter drops my dinosaur (I mean ps2). Gonna have to buy another to play those ps1 classics, my Metal Gear PS3 does not play some ps1 games too well, like FFVII, VIII or IX.

I hear only kids who seem to be intrigued by all the blood play this game. The story is craptastic and the game has a ton of bugs/imbalances, but thats just what I hear lol, never even tried it so I wouldn't know.
BTW, that horse video is funny shit.

There goes my life for another 4-5 years.... I hope they have samurai in this one Hey man, it'll be a good 4-5 yrs ;D No better way to lose friends than with FF. My RL friends list went from 25+ to about 2 after FFXI ROFL.....And guess what...Good riddance!(No, im not anti social ) EDIT: Just found this on the net.. News by Tom Bramwell Yesterday Update: As one probably should have expected (sorry), FFXIV Online is due out for PS3 and PC, not just PS3 - and will receive a "simultaneous global release with language support in Japanese, English, French and German". It's got FFIX and XI's director, Nobuaki Komoto, FFXII's art director and musician Nobuo Uematsu on it, too.
