360 is an awesome system to own as well. But it was too easy to hack. Just have to give up online play. I thought about getting a hacked one for that reason....To play offline. I can get a hacked 360 for about 125, games are 5 bucks a piece... I just don't play offline much anymore, that's what kept me from getting one so far. Actually now that I think about it, I don't play much online these days either...

I don't care either way, but I don't use Linux....
The 360 is next, IDK around your way, but here in NY, there are so many hacked 360's that 360's or it's games aren't worth shit anymore. Not that I give a rats balls, I always hated the 360 lol.

That's really sweet stuff Mil. Looks professionally done. Oh and btw, if you can work photoshop like that, idk where you are but here in NYC you can get a job paying well over 40k a year for that talent...

Definitely agree with Sieg here. 30 bucks is too much for board games. You can probably get the same package and more for 10 bucks for pc. I'm pretty sure the Wii has some better deals too.
IDK if you guys ever played "Wild Arms", but if you didn't its a great classic RPG well worth the 4.95 I paid for it. It's one of those RPG's that I actually played through and enjoyed thoroughly from beginning to end.

I finished this last week and here are my thoughts about this game.
The game is not so bad, but it is not a 10 either. I finished it last week and IMO it was rather short, hell when I finished it I didn't believe I had finished it, I was watching the credits and still couldn't believe it was done. I guess since it was so linear, there wasn't much exploration to be done, and hence the game felt extremely short(I logged 56 hours total and I was afk for 6 of those hours at the very least.) I also grinded a certain spot in chapter 7 and 11 for about an hour each. In other words, there was really no down time in this game. If you died you simply try again from the very spot you died. There is basically no penalty for dieing. All of these things are considered ( a grind) and this game has no grind at all, which is what people now a days want and what SE gave them, thus adding to their fan base(I can bet on that)
I also found it extremely easy....I mean extremely. (I didnt even have the strategy guide and I'm saying that) I guess again the reason for that is because you practically have a save spot every 10 minutes and before any major stuff goes down. Remember the old school FF?? Hell I remember in 2(IV officially) the last save before the last boss was about 1/2 hour of fighting away before you even encountered the last boss lol. I'm pretty sure this was all done so they could have a larger fan base, make the game simpler and wala you have a much broader audience.
About the lv system.....Another total disappointment. FFXII all over again imo. They need to stop fucking around with these stupid hybrid jobs. It's boring as hell having every character do mostly everything. I want my classic jobs back, I wan my war/rdm/blm/whm etc etc. It's just fucking dumb to have every member in your party with very very similar skills. I finished the game everyone was on Lv4 of the w/e the fuck they call the lv wheel or w/e. Why did I lv up to 5 after defeating the final boss???(who was a joke btw) After the credits are over you can save an return to the last save spot, this time for me as a lv 5. WTF would I wan't to play anymore or lv anymore when the guy was a pushover at lv 4? I don't get that if someone can explain that to me.
The combat system I wonder about....Will XIV employ something similar? I didn't think the para shifting was a bad thing at all.
All in all if I had never played a FF before, beside the PSP version (FFVII crisis core) I would of thought the game was based on that one. It feels more like that, an action RPG.
The story and the music was very good, as usual. The game is not "bad" but it's far from "great". The seamless transitions from battle/cut scene to gameplay was great and in the future most games will probably have very little loading. If I rated games, this one gets 7.5/10.
IMO DAO was a better game, more intense, a much bigger challenge and things just "worked" better overall. (If you can over look the little bugs like slowdowns etc)
Talking about DAO I hear the expansion is WEAKSAUCE. About 8hrs of gameplay for 40 bucks....NO THANKS.

Yea played 2 hrs last night and the story gets better and better. I guess I do kinda understand how they are trying to baby feed the whole combat system. They are trying to reach out to more and more people, which makes a lot of business sense.
@ Morbid - Lol on the spoiler remark!
And yea I totally agree with ya...Can't believe they made the game so linear, that was a dumb thing to do.

I'm only about 2-3 hours in, and so far it's visually stunning, vanille is super hot (although I wish she'd shut the hell up), and all i've done so far is mash x at every opportunity. I know it'll pick up eventually but I'm already craving a little variety in my fights. just beat the first fal'cie Agreed, I honestly got bored of the combat system in the first 20 minutes. Didn't want to criticize it since I played so little and I hear it gets better later on.. But seriously my two year old can mash x all day and take a potion once in a blue....

Unfortunately I've only been able to play the game like for 20 mins so far :/ (/shakefist @ work), but the story and characters so far are incredibly familiar to me, due to whoever it was that had a link up to the story when we were waiting for the game to come out. It's like I know the characters in and out even thou I played so little.
Totally agree! Sooooo cute!!

Yea that's why I'm hesitating to buy this. I saw the trailer at gametrailers and I was not too impressed. Maybe the guy doing the announcing should be shot too, just hearing him made me not want to buy this game.

FF12

To be fair though, DAO's tactics system was virtually identical, with the exception of being able to change "stances," which affected their general behavior. If you want them to use a specific ability, you still need to set it, just like in FFXII. Actually Sig, I have to disagree with that. In DOA they will cast spells not set by you. Example, Wynn will group heal right after a fight if everyone's hp is low. Allistair uses his tank abilities on his own (like shout/that aoe taunt and w/e). Morrigan uses all her attack spells(not the support ones thou I noticed, since I had her as "attacker"). If you set someone up as a "tank" they will use all their abilities for "tanking" weather you set em or not. DAO AI is 100x smarter than FFXII, but to be fair it is also a much more modern game, I mean XII is from 2006. No matter, I never played a game before 12 were you can have these "gambits" so it was innovative in it's time, at least for me.

Agreed. I am looking forward to really intense story lines and excellent voice acting in the future! I didn't enjoy FF12 Gambits but Dragon Age has something similar and dare I say... They did a better job at it. You know why DAO did better at it? Because the characters actually use all their abilities on their own, in XII the only use the ones you set. Anyway I still can't get myself to finish this lame ass game. I must be 75% done with it and I just can't get myself to play it anymore. Hell I can't even remember the freaking story line because I enjoyed hunts more lol. LAMEST FF EVER!! (Well maybe X2 was a bit lamer, but not by much.)
