What do you know ... I log on for the first time since I left the game, and I get caught red-handed ... I just sent a PM to Mark that day, I am busiest than I ever was in my whole life as far as I can remember. First, I miss you guys. I may have been silent for months, but I often thought of you all! Second, I want to apologize for the way I quit: I can't even remember if I posted anything about it back then (and if I did, no need to dig it up and quote it here Mr T. ) ... to make it short, I guess that those new LS rules about having to have some more requirements to stay in LS, and that shift of the interest from Dynamis to the end CoP areas right as I was finally just able to enter Dynamis, just forced me to realize that I would always be struggling to try to catch up, and spend all my time soloing to do that, while all I was interested in was spending time with you. The multiplication of the chat channels and the need to use them to focus on staying alive and getting things done only was making it hard even to just be able to chat ... I remember saying back then that there was noone to blame (except SE), I was still happy to see the way EO became big and didn't regret supporting the change a year before that ... Anyways ... I suddenly saw there was no point spending that much time with so little to get out of it, and the only logical outcome was to decide to quit. So I uninstalled the game one night and that was it ... but i found it too hard then to just log on on the forums ... I tried a few times in the next days and just had to log right away, or I would have started to cry like my girlfriend in front of her chickflicks (and as I tend to post from work with my colleagues around, I would have had to make some stuff up I guess ). So I just stopped trying and went cold turkey ... it wasn't the game, I had hated it more than loved it for a while already, it was reading the stuff you guys were doing and planning to do together that I had a hard time seeing. I've always been puzzled by cyberflirt turning into cyberlove ending in cyberbreakups (I've seen several cases now, both in FF and other games I am playing now) ... I've had a real GF i love within grabbing distance for just 10 years now so it was hard to imagine I guess. But I learned that friendships you find online are anything but virtual, and that quitting the game was just as hurtful as it was to quit my hometown and loose all my longtime friends back when I moved to the US. I am glad to see that the forums are still up, that some of you guys are still doing stuff together, it means a lot to me! I'll be back on the forums more often now ... try WoW? no time for now, but who knows ... I'd love to just to hang around ... is it allowed to stay lvl 1 for extended periods of time? More news soon, my boss is lurking around, I'd hate to be fired on my last week (hint!).

1) zomfg! Gurk! 2) Last week? I have not even a guess. This reminds me of the game contests you used to host for EO. 3) it's really good to hear from you, it would be infinitely awesome if you were to join us on WoW, even on a lvl 1 char, or you could maybe sign onto ventrillo with us.
I miss you, seeing you brings back some of the better memories of EO. Not the pressure-to-succeed-at-endgame memories, but I think of you helping me with Rank 3 Dragon on your Rdm. Or you helping with my Woodworking. You were one of those rare, one of a kind absolutely selfless guys, and it was truly a shame you had no time to play with us to the fullest.
And even then, you found a solution to your lack of time and took up Bst, where you could solo when and how you liked. Truly a one of a kind guy.

Sup buddy! I will never forget our first xp party together as a 40 something WHM and a 40 something RDM in Gustav Tunnel. Those were the days. Young (in terms of the game), stupid, and just having fun.
My life is in transition at the moment. I'm back at school pulling the full time work / full time school schedule again. My video game habits are limited. No WoW, little FFXI, and I'm just fine with that.
Good to hear from ya again.

I remember all of that too ... and can't help laughing at my RDM skills then. Young and stupid, for sure! I just had hit 40 RDM that night Ruuk (or w/e you need to get convert) ... and I remember I died 3 times in a single night from using it lol! But I never cared about Xp that much and it was a very fun night! I'll also never forget that you still asked me to join (certainly my exceptionnal jester skills had made an impression on you! ) the next two nights on the same camping spot, and that you handed me the green pearl right after that. Jon, great memories too ... my best moments in this game were certainly those when we were just trying to help each other getting (easy) things done, all scared in areas way too dangerous for the newbies we were ... I won't forget that exciting trip to help your other brother's character (sorry ... I got it on the tip of my tongue but cant remember now) to get his tele-Altep crystal after showing him the way to Rabao, all on foot/chocobo from Jeuno via Bastok. I realize even more now how much more fun I had doing that than spending those endless nights trying to level up ... Good to hear from you guys! I'll try to find a way to hook up with you in some game at some point ... so you better all have some common interest by then, i can't picture myself playing two games to hang out with all of you!!! Some quick news, Boss is still around and I got lots of work: I was saying last week because i quit my job, and the US. Heading back to France, different city, new position ... hopefully with the perspective of having a stable one some day, i am still one one-year contracts with no garantee of anything. Second baby will be french only then, as he/she (couldn't see ) will land in June. Everything is fine for the rest, mostly. Where's that thread with everyone's pics? i was curious to finally put a face on Tempus' deviant character!

Glad to hear you're doing well dude. And yes you can come hang out as a level 1 (though even if you xp'd 3 hours a week that would quickly go up fast, this is so much easier than FF). No worries on pressure to level, I think we've all learned a bit, or just grown tired of the online grind. XD

Aye we take it pretty easy, even have levl caps installed so peeps can catch up even if they play limited. The game isnt so time consuming that if u dont have 100 hours a week to play you can still have fun. Honestly ill prolly fight tooth an nail to see that we never do anything lame like a point system to where it feels like u hafta do such an such, and force peeps to feel like that hafta be at point A an do thing B at time C. The more relaxed atmosphere of WoW is truely imo one of the best qualities of the game. That and being able to login an prolly go an get something done positive even if ur time is limited!
