"You may be right from your point of view, but your point of view may be wrong." -M.R. Cohen to go along with that, I'll bring about a line from "Mothman Prophecies". great movie. anyway, "you see that window washer up there?" man points to a window washer on the side of a very tall building. "he can see a accident happen blocks from here.... you woudlnt know anything about. Just because he saw it doesnt mean he knows more then you or a more advanced being. It just means he see's things from a different place then you" I know its not an exact quote, but to that effect. anyway, i'll start in on this tomorrow at work good thread, i see it growing quickly ^^ _Code

Oh, sorry. Were we supposed to post quotes with life meaning or something? I apologize if I inadvertantly broke up the serious overtones of this thread. Please allow me to share another quote with you:

All men dream: but not equally.
Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity:
but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible.
T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia)

"There is nothing more likely to start disagreement among people or countries than an agreement."
"I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority."

"You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it."
"There is hope for the future because God has a sense of humor and we are funny to God."
"The main goal of the future is to stop violence. The world is addicted to it."

"Let us now set forth one of the fundamental truths about marriage: the wife is in charge."
"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody."

lastly, here is one from good ol' Bill that I wanted to comment on:
"Men and women belong to different species and communications between them is still in its infancy."
I don't believe this. Yes, I know scientifically we are in fact one species. But I don't believe we are that different even metaphorically. I think the continued perpetuation of how we're so different fosters that idea and gives people an excuse to communicate poorly with each other. Given enough time with another human being I can understand them well ("read" them so to speak), even if that person happens to be male. All it takes is a willingness to know and interest in the people around (i.e. not being so self absorbed (which is not to say I'm not plenty self-absorbed, I just try not to be)). People seem to be lazy when it comes to trying to understand others and communicate with them, and, especially in marriage, they seem to want to take the easy way out most of the time now-a-days (speaking in general, rise of divorce rates, etc).
blah blah blah...
