I got a concussion last week due to being the worlds biggest drunk asshole and was bed-ridden for a good 5 days (though I'm feeling better now, thanks) and my buddy lent me Tales of Vesperia which is the latest Namco/Bandai Tales installment for Xbox360, and I have to say that I'm addicted. This game is beautiful, fun, fast-paced, and multi-player to boot (which is rarely fun for console RPGs I find). Me and Ax have been played it pretty much nonstop over the weekend while I iced my fucking brains. The story is great and I love all of the characters (except Rita, stupid bitch). The battle system is pretty fleshed out and I'm even enjoying the cooking aspect, though I largely ignored it in Symphonia. Anyone else play this?

Codeine bougth it and I watched him play quite a bit...but I never got into it that much. I do like Tales games somewhat..but not a huge fan.
It seems RPG's are headed towards a real time place where you program your party to attack in certain ways and for some reason this isn't as fun to me.
Star Ocean 4 seems to have the same kind of set up as Vesperia....but I'll be getting that.
Also Tales of Vesperia has a new anime starting up soon.

Good to hear you are feeling better Mirowr.
I like the traditional RPGs. All story with 4-5 guys standing on side of the screen and a bunch of baddies on the other side...
Stop doing stupid shit!

Yeah I was never a big fan of the Tales franchise either until this game, I had played most of the previous titles but got bored too quickly or stuck or something, but this game really has me hooked. The awesome cel-shading basically eliminates the need for anime cut scenes although there are some (though they're few and far between). The main character is a TOTAL badass too! He's not your standard stupid, naive, hot-headed, pussy do-gooder character that you usually find in RPGs. The story is pretty linear but it's fast paced and keeps you moving, and there are plenty of sidequests to explore so it seems, I'm not done yet but I think you should give it a try. Where is Codeine anyways???

Haha I'm with you man, but that's why I never really got into FFXII, the real-time battles were so boring to me. You just set some gambits and let the game do most of the work... It was pretty, but boring to me. I actually went back to try and play it but my little brother scratched up my disc so now it's FUBARed and I'm pissed. Axia even sprung the extra 10$ or whatever for the collector's edition. Sibling FAIL . Yeah I'm definitely going to wear a helmet the next time I go out drinking . Thanks for the concern.

I'm not enjoying the Gambit crap either tbh... It's the look and feel of the game that I enjoy. And the story is alright. Lol... Damn little brothers! I got a couple I wouldn't mind hanging >.>

yea I was laying on the bed talking to some girl all drunk. I got off of the phone and stood up...well I've been laying down a good hour....I took a step and lost my balance and just starting falling head first over like 15 feet. my lower body couldn't run fast enough to catch up with my head.....I ran my shoulder into a kitchen table (yes a kitchen table was in the bedroom...where do you put it?) which spun me onto my back as my head went through the wall in between the studs. There was a party going on in the living room so everyone ran in the bedroom to see what happened and opened the door real quick...only i put my head through the wall right next to the door...so I got smacked with that too.
