The only things I've really been actively looking forward to up until now is
FFXIII Starcraft 2
but now that I've seen the rest of the threads I want pretty much every other game that Nauren has posted screens for. I gotta get my hands on another next-gen console though cause the Wii is just not enough!

Heh, semi-off topic... but I saw your lists (and the PS3 thread) and it made me think of this: Top-Ten Games on the Playstation 3....Granted, the console exclusive scene isn't anywhere near as dismal as it was this time last year for the system (this was the year the PS3 came into its own,) but any top ten "best games" list where there are no entries for numbers 10, 9 and 8, and entry #6 is a blu-ray movie is pretty damn awesome. At any rate, back on topic... I'm still looking forward to Fallout 3 and Dead Space. I know, old news. I won't get to play them for awhile, though. Endwar is surprisingly fun, it's significantly better than I was expecting and I'm an RTS vet. Gears 2 is pretty much everything we thought it would be, though everything feels a lot more claustrophobic to me this time around. Ironically, it's the exclusive PS3 titles I'd kill for right now. I'm a huge MGS fan and Guns of the Patriots continues to taunt me. Now there's Little Big Planet, Resistance 2 and a few other titles on the horizon... Damn. I need a job that pays what my old one did.

GoW sounds fun, even though it's a short game the online play might be worth it for a few months.

I personally never liked Gow. I played the first one, coop and online and I thought it sucks. The idea of football player big burly space marines jocks just bothers me and puts me off to begin with. It just seemed generic to me.
but don't mind me...I tend to not enjoy the games the sell the most or seem to be the most popular.

Agreed, but that's not why I like it. Gameplay ranks higher for me than anything else, and the gameplay in both is pretty solid. Gears 2 doesn't take a lot of risks, but is a pretty good sequel and manages to refine the gameplay a little bit. The gunplay, cover system, and tactical firefights are all a lot more intense and a bit smoother than the original gears. To be honest, Gears is at its best when you're not playing alone. The single player does an OK job of emphasizing use of cover and flanking tactics, but it's not until you draft a friend into applying those mechanics with you that everything pops into place.
Of course, if the setting and character design is really a deal breaker for you - then I can't blame you for dismissing it. I feel the same way about WoW's art direction (I like Metzen's work, but to be frank - it's blatantly derivative of Warhammer after being thrown through a Saturday morning cartoon filter) so I can understand how it taints the overall experience.
I have to admit, I'm starting to watch Killzone a lot closer as we close in on its release. If Resistance was the PS3's only killer app at release; Killzone may be the final deal-breaker for a lot of gamers that are on the fence, myself included.
