I am sorry to say that this is the end for me. What had started as the deal of a lifetime quickly turned into the biggest burn I have ever come across in my entire life.
For those who were away this afternoon, I will gladly bring you up to speed....
Before Broken and Fly's wedding this evening I decided to throw a couple shouts out for a Nobles Tunic while i was in Jeuno. A few minutes later I received a /tell from a dude in Sandy named Smurf. He told me he was quitting the game and was interested in selling off his gear. His search comment said "Aristocrats Tunic. Do you need it? 15,000,000." I immediately headed to Sandy's port station in LJ. But then he asked if Delivery would be ok cuz he needed to log for work shortly. I was reluctant to agree with so much money on the line... Finally after negotiating the method of delivery, we agreed that I would send 10mil, he would send the tunic, then I would send the remaining 3mil. It was risky on my part, I'll admit it but the deal was too tempting. I sent the cash... He went to his MH and checked his inbox. .............. He replied back the money wasnt there and suggested I should just buy it off his bazaar. He then proceeded to put his /tell blocker up and logged out.
I'm done... I'm fucking done... I dont care to be part of a game, keyword game, when assholes like Smurf will do what they must to better themselves. Fuck that!
The timing of this situation is quite unfortunate.... After talking with Markus and Tempus and much thinking today at work, I decided not to leave EO for a HNMls. lol I guess none of that reallly matters now... I'm gone regardless of my choice.
Take care in life, Orphans. You will not be easily forgotten and you will be forever missed. Edeas raised me... I was nothing before I received my shiny green pearl.. And I became what I am ingame because of her. (btw I'm actually in tears right now, who wouldve thought a game could do that to someone eh?) I wish you all the very best.... goodbye

There is something the GMs can do. But they have to know about it so this doesn't happen to someone else. I really hope this isn't the end.. you will be missed too much. Maybe a few days break and you will be feeling better  |

nick, i'm so sorry about all of the bullshit that had gone on today. i truly feel horrible about the situation, and if this were something that happened irl i would've taken the bar in ND just so i could get your money back. sadly i know how horrible people on this game can be. things will get better. i know that it's hard to move on with your life, but sometimes it's for the best. although i am very sad that you will be gone from the game, i can't sit back and tell you not to go because it is ultimately your choice. i would love nothing more than to pull that guy off to the corner during recess and kick his ass (because yes, he was acting like an elementary schooler), but sadly that's not how SE works. the fact that they don't provide adequate protections for their clients/patrons is amazing and unbelievable to me. we asked our GM if she could help and she said that she couldn't.  what a shitty world they've created if they just allow people to go around in a "state of nature" like that. i'm sorry that you had to be the brunt of such a cruel person. we will miss you. we have missed you. the wedding was beautiful and i wish you could've been there because you have truly been a good friend to broken and i since we moved servers (you were the one to give us our pearl, help us with AF1, help us with so much more). i am so sad that this will be the end of the cutaru named miruuk. we will miss you, nick, and i hope that you stay in contact with us over the boards... my sincerest, flyingsnow |

You're the one that is responsible for me still playing that game, when you gave me a pearl as I was about to quit. I have no real cash gil, but am sure I have over 1 mil of valuable crafting crap in my MH, plus those 2 eye clusters I never really tried to sell. Only a bit of what you lost, but they're yours. Don't quit because of a single asshole like that, when you got so many friends !
SE doesn't care. I don't know what WE can do against him. Any idea gang?

I know it's not that much the gil you lost or the fact that assholes play (that's no news) than SE's choice not to care that hurts you. We can't do anything against SE, maybe only we can have Smurf pay for that some day, but for sure we can help with the material loss. If you reconsider quiting .... we're there. |

More importantly, today I made a mistake which weighs more heavily than any gil loss. I lost my dignity and self respect as well as the values that I once held dear in this game. Smurf is probably some dude's mule. How can I go about this game when I know this person is out there ridiculing every step I take? How is it possible for me to continue forth when one of the ultimate goals in this game for me was dropped like a bad habit? Idk what I'm getting at with this reply.... What I do know is its a crying shame this is the way it must end... |
