Ok yea as you all know my main job is RNG/NIN, now sometimes it gets quite repetitive you know shoot ,shoot ,shoot ,barrage, ws ,shoot, shoot ,shoot ,ws barrage..... Yea well i get bored sometimes and I think I'm gonig to take on another job not as my main im still taking rng to 75 , but I want a scrw around job with lots of diffferent things to do, RDM/NIN what do you guys think... I know its not the most common job... but i think it has huge potential.... Heres some PROs that i have thought about
number one RDM becomes a dd along with enfeebler and sub healer, with dual wield you can use elemental dual wielding which can put out some decent damage, along with a few nuking mbs here and there also you can be a decent dd ..
Now I know your not gunna be a RNG with damage but Along with enfeebling and having refresh at 41 you have many different abilities that you can be very efficent in and help pts out very much.. also this makes RDM EXTREMELY soloable and imo the best solo job combo in game
please post your thoughts and opinions ... and please constructive criticism.....
BTW sorry if i post this in the wrong section and sorry for typos im at school rigt now and these people wont stf^ so i can concentrate

Go for it dude! RDM/NIN can be a lot of fun. Although sometimes RDM gets thrown into the main healing roll. ; ;

I personally think it's more of a solo job than a party job, at least untill you get refresh, then it can become somewhat more viable in a party situation. But yeah dude, if you want a job combo to just screw around with and be able to solo, either this or bst is definitely the way to go. You should talk to zarian abour rdm/nin since that is his prefered job.

Well, gimme some reasons why it cant be used as a party job then.... I mean RDM itself has most enfeebling spells you need and i dont join pts without a whm becuz when i become rdm/nin im not going to main heal so why does it make it not a party job.

Basically RDM/NIN is a generalist even more than RDM/BLM(WHM) is. Meaning they dont have enough mp to keep up with a rdm that subs a mage job, and they arent doing as much dmg as a dedicated DD. Im not saying they do horrible dmg, or cant still enfeeble, but especially as you get into the higher levels you need that extra mp to keep the chains going fast. Now Im sure when zarian gets around to ready this he's gonna argue with that... >;)

OK here is my vew point... RDM/NIN is awsome for things like Avatars and minor tanking raids. if you really want to know how it is, ask Mrclean he is 75rdm/37nin and he has lots of fun with it. Plus he has tanked all the avaders i have..
POS- Phalenx/stoneskin/shadows=Never getting hit. Not too much on MP u got convert it works as long as u got a good whm
NEG- I dont know, havent ran past one...lol

I like my rdm/nin for solo work or when I'm the highest level in a party on a raid for some reason, but the ~100 mp hit (I'm a hume) hurts a lot and my enfeebles are getting harder and harder to stick without the +mnd from a whm subjob. So, I think rdm/nin is acceptable until 55, but after that you need a mage subjob. I also want to say that my converts rule with whm sub because I use the following macro
/p Convert Don't worry, unless I die! <call2> /ja "Divine Seal" Corran /wait 2 /ja "Convert" Corran /wait 2 /ma "Cure IV" Corran
It's amazing, trust me. Also, if your party seems stupid, sub blm for the following macro.
/p Escape Gather Together. Fast Cast Chainspell >>> Corran /ja "Chainspell" Corran /wait 3 /ma "Escape" Corran
Trust me, that one is amazing if you have the mp around to pull it off.
I'd sure hate to lose the elemental bonus or int bonus from switching between multiple two-handed weapons rather than sticking to swords all the time as well.

I would say rdm/nin stops working in PTs after lvl 51 when you're introduced to elemental staves. An Ice Staff is better for nuking and enfeebling than dual wize wizard anelaces or w/e and Light staff is good for curing and you won't be getting any TP because after each fight you'll be switching weapons to your Dark Staff.
Above all else, parties don't need RDMs as DDs. Take a look at the jobs your level looking for PT: DRK DRK DRK THF MNK DRK MNK THF SAM
They really don't need a DD, they need a back-up nuker, back-up healer, consistent enfeebling and support in the form of refresh and dispel.

4 Drk, 2 Mnk, 2 Thf, 1 Sam??? Hrrrmm jon, just what are you implying there?
You do make an awesome point about the elemental staves that I always forget about.

ooo, i was a rdm/nin b4, it suked. all the japanese ppl at lvl 30 at ballista were rdm/nin's and kicked my ass! so if your out for something like that then keep the option open but i wouldnt want a rdm/nin in a pt. if you want something extrodinary be a drk/sam, everyone i talked to said they would hella die every 5 mins from the hate generated but i know you can pull it off ^^
