BTW. What are you using the compress these? Are you just using the compression that youtube gives you? If so, I highly recommend the h.264 codec from Apple. It makes videos about 1/100 their original size, and keeps quality pretty freaking good. The only way I know to get it though is to buy Quicktime Pro from Apple, but it is only like $20.

No matter how I encode the videos, they get re-encoded by youtube into a flash video format. I haven't found any information on using a particular format for better results, what I read just said "use the highest quality video you have". I use to try to use various encoding and so forth but they usually ended up looking horrible when I uploaded them to youtube. So I just use windows movie maker to edit them and it saves them in a standard wmv format. It's the best results I've been able to come up with while uploading to youtube. They look better in the original videos of course but decent is better than crappy or nonexistant, right? ;-)
