yah, he may have shouted out the ending, but 10-1 that only made people really want to buy the book then..
Jus finished with book 6.. seems i missed book 5 at some point in time though. anyhow HP6 was a bit of a surprise endin, but then again i dont belive a damn thing that happened there at the end, i think it was all a show put on for the Death Eaters

xaero - i agree, been telling broken that the whole time!
as for the differences between lotr, hp, and cn (chronicals of narnia) - literary they are quite distinct. i won't go into specifics now (b/c i'm at work and to do so would end up taking up about 30 or 40 pages - so i'll spare you all), but they are all very unique. i wouldn't say that rowling writes merely for the child. that's just the opinion of a comparativist. (BA in Comparative Literature and all). at any rate, i love them all and now i'm working on chronicals of narnia. can't wait to finish!

I would call harry potter "light fantasy" and lotr "heavy fantasy" as descriptive ways of comparing them. Doesnt mean one is necessarily better than the other, they were written in entirely different ways.

I got the special edition Narnia collection in Hardcover. One of the reasons Aidar married me. I loved thoses books growing up. Can't wait for the movie. And I like Harry Potter too, sorry Itachi. Picked up the new book the other day. Haven't been too impressed with the most recent movie versions so we'll see about the next one.... Hope we get first run releases in Germany.

I have never read any of the HP series, just seemed to "kiddy" for me. Isabo, I married you cuz you have a nice arse, the Narnia thing was just a bonus =P
