1/2 my submission, tho they are of the same event.  Second half  Orphans, Some friends, some who I wasn't even particularly close to assembled, and sat with me. for Hours on end (i missed a window so ToD was off) to finally get this for me. I was completely touched by this event for a couple reasons. 1) it lasted til 5am. 2) it wouldn't have happened without Markus and Xaero had pushed us to stay. I felt horrible for asking people to stay around so late (early?) to get this item for me, then it didn't pop when I said it would, just ugly all the way around. But Markus gave me, and the group, the incentive to stay. I can never thank him enough for that. And as we all see, it ended in a victory. Not only for myself but for EO, over a ton of competition. As usual, last minute submission! hehe.. Anyway, here goes.. When I was looking through my mannny screenshots, so many of them brought back great EO memories from all the forced pops, gods, etc. I could have used the screenshot from our first Kirin, with SO many members we could barely get a picture. Or a funny one from Kurrea when someone typed /help by accident XD But the one that really started all of those memories was this one, and for those who weren't there or didn't see Kaene's post ( www.edeasorphans.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=pics&action=display&thread=1133872590), I'll explain it. At the time I was still in Genocidal Tendencies, getting nothing done as I had little motivation anymore. Sitting there doing nothing, Jonathan asks me to help him out with an NM. Of course I jumped at the chance since I like killing new things and love helping friends, especially Jon since he's helped me more than anyone in this game combined. SO I went to the desert, joined up with him and others and we went to kill. Mel said the whole time "I don't think we should do this...", and I laughed. Of course we could! Of course, I had wayyy too much trust in Jon at this point, and we proceeded to get owned.. But, the thing that really got to me was that everyone was motivated to get up and try again, even though the loss was pretty bad. You could call it a suicide group but I must say that is something I admire in people: that they can die and disregard experience points, and just enjoy the actual experience. We tried again and failed, but I was really impressed with the people of EO. I went on to find that EO members were a lot alike in that sense, that they didn't give up and tried their best at whatever they threw at themselves. Of course, we would have tried again but Jonathan fell asleep before he even realized it and we ended up leaving his dead body there .. we laughed heartily.  EO, you accepted me into your home and I thank you for all the opportunities I was given, and all the memories I'll hold for a long long time.  And just for 'kicks', me stomping on Jon's dead body ^^  |

Winner will be announced on June 22nd. so, um, with markus and tempus not around as much, there's been a little less control on deadlines and such, and well, to make a long story short, we spent the gil on hookers, beer, and a sybian. As soon as Aly and Beren lot for who gets the sybian, we'll get to judging the contest. j/k folks, give us a few more days. Thank you for your patience. |
