Just forget it. It's not worth arguing over, because you won't allow that stores DO NOT have this crap available for preorder, no matter what the internet says to the contrary and no matter how many sites back it up.
By the way, I never said anything about a 'friend' working for anyone. I said I work for Gamestop (through the EB/Gamestop merger). If you want proof of that I'll scan my next pay stub. And the way EB has operated the entire time I've worked there, it doesn't even matter what the website says we have available for preorder if the store lists don't match.

I never said you didn't work there....but the one website I posted was www.gamestop.com lol. How is gamestop wrong? I all but clicked the submit button on Tekken for the PS3 on the gamestop website lol. Basically your telling me that you are right because you work for EB and Gamestop is wrong? Did you even look at the link? I mean I picked the game...gave them my credit card number..and was one step away from "preorder" why would they take my money in exchange for PS3 game if its not available for preorder? ??

Accually GameStop and EB usually guess at there dates at first. That is why it seems that every games date gets pushed back. I used to think that publishers talked to the companies and gave them the dates but this is not the case at all. Dates are usually (no always but in most cases) just obtained from guesses from gathered info. It would be my bet that the PS3 will be out sometime in Oct. but the not the first (no biggie) and if you want one order it ASAP because for the 360 these companies over pre-ordered by an average of 200% per store (again because they guess and don't get numbers from the comanies) which is probably why only the online site are taking pre-oders at this time.

That sounds about right Gamer. If ever store took pre-orders, there wouldn't be enough games/units to ship out to ever store... so, sell them online, first come first serve bases without having to worry about the middle man (the stores)

Gamestop's online website always lists games and consoles on the first of the month when they do not have an exact date. This is mostly a guess on the release date and to allow pre-orders. So your correct. However..the latest rumor for PS3 coming from credible sources are saying september 16th for japan and september 21st for USA....europe to be announced.
but the points I was trying to get across..is on the Gamestop website..you can pay for the game to ensure first come first serve on the games of your choice.

Just wanted to comment on something: Fine. Forget it. The guy who actually works for the company is wrong, because he or anyone else that works for them can't POSSIBLY -EVER- be right. From what i've heard you say, your either a Sales Rep, or a CSR for Gamestop. From my experience, neither are usually right, but thats beyond the point. Most of your information seems pretty on point... not true, I attack people when they make argumentative off topic posts. Your converstation went: Gael: "The sky is green" Nauren: "nah dogg, blue" Gael: "I work for nature, and its green" Nauren: "Well nature's website here*link*, here*link*, here*link* and over there*link* all says blue. to which I said, "you got served". because you did. There was a debate, and Nauren did the research, came back with substantial evidence to back up the information he was providing (which he mentioned several times was source information, not necessarily fact). The only proof you provided was "I work there". I work for nextel, I'm a technician. I have datasheets and system information regarding new phones, but I have no fucking clue what corporate is doing or when the new phones are coming out. Sales knows less then me. Working there is not a principal to knowledge. Go look at the Off-Topic. I contribute nothing and bring nothing to the table. Chopsticks that dispense Soy Sauce? A chain email from my sister with funny questions that note your Observancy? Does this seem like a reputable source for someone that contributes alot?? I'M A POST WHORE! And have way too much spare time. It just so happens I have an extreme interest in certain topics and seek out as much information on them as possible; subsequently, nuggets of golden information happen. In this case; Nauren brought up a topic... you refuted it. Nauren proved where his information came from. You said "I work there". He never said it was scripture, but at this point, i'm more likely to trust the source "gamestop", then "employee". Thats great... THAT'S off topic ^^y I'm not a fanboy, guess how many games I've bought in the last year? 1. Resident Evil 4. Thats it. I dont own an XBox or a 360, dont plan on buying either. Technically I dont own a Playstation, its Angels. So call someone else a fanboy. I made an observation. An accurate one at that. ^^ Thanks _Code

Seifer, but yeah.
The opening video to FFVIII called "Liveri Fatali" if you wanna search it out, was my favorite of the series. Tho Aeris really got me I think because it was 3am and I'd been playing for like, 11 hours straight... I was at a weak point. hehe

8 really self destructed towards the end imo. I loved 8 for the content, not for the final destination (reversal of 7, where the getting there was a pain, but the end results were amazing)
hehe, derailing a topic is fun ^^d

Yay, the post-pick-apart game! I love this. </sarcasm> Just wanted to comment on something: There's something new. I'll deal with this in the bit I'll be posting down below. No, it doesn't, and if you had taken more time to read what I was saying, you would have seen that I never said the words "I know for a fact that we never had that stuff for preorder." Maybe I should've put an "at present" in there, because there may have been a time I didn't see it -- I only work weekends, and it may have been in the system for a day or two during the week. But I never said I knew for damn sure that we NEVER had it. Just that I'd talked to several managers at the Lewis Center Gamestop location, the Polaris Mall EB Games locations, the Marion EB Games location, and the Tuttle Mall EB Games. They all told me they had nothing on their lists. THAT is what I was going by, not some "I-have-knowledge-from-corporate" bullshit. The girl that works in my store does that, and I'll be damned if that doesn't piss me off to no end. Contrary to whatever ideas people may have, I'm not retarded, I like to get my information straight. So I went to my available sources. Then maybe you need to quit getting on other people for "not contributing," like you have in the past. See above response. Yeah, it was. But you know what? It was a sentiment I have regarding the current situation at work. I'm SURROUNDED by games. I'm also SURROUNDED by fanboys, and I can honestly tell you that Sony fanboys are the worst ones that hound us. You might think it's Nintendo fanboys, getting all pissy that Twilight Princess got delayed again, but that's far from the case. We've thrown people out this week for badgering us about Sony. Again, if you cared to read what I said and not read into it in the wrong places, I never called YOU a fanboy. Stop assuming I am. I said it in a general manner; I didn't say anyone here was a fanboy. Not you, or Nauren, or anyone else. I never called any of you fanboys. If I wanted to call anyone a fanboy, I would have said it loud and clear -- "Person X, you are a goddamn fanboy." I'm officially done with this topic. I'm not going to argue it anymore, because I'm tired of it, personally. I've made my point, and now I'm done.
