Give the person, be it wo/man, or beast (or it) and a good reason why. Becuase he killed Aries is not a good enough reason either -.-
My vote goes to Kefkia of FFVI. He stopped at nothing to achive what he went after. Poisoning the water supply of that one castle(its been a few years, I'm old, Like Tempus) and his laugh... how many Bosses have their own laugh back in the SNES days? Final battle. Yeah, almost all bosses have that mutli stage thing going "Oh, you killed me, but not quite yet!"... Oh! you killed me again, but I have this (evil laughter here)"
Kefkia being no diffent also does this. But, he's three screens high... not three diffent fights, three screens... yeah.
Oh, and General Leo/Esper's. nuff said.
Make sure to add what video game they are from, as some of us might not know/remember what game they are from.

(Hmm...) Kuja!... It's Sephy. And I wanna list the reasons too. It's not just cuz... "Sephiroth is s0 kewl! he ownz j00! He walks in the fire witha sword!!"... It's because this character actually has motivation for what he does and you can see him BEFORE he becomes bad and he was a "good guy" before... He actually has a reason to take over the world and most of all.. he freaking died falling into mako.. and was reborn from sheer will... cleavage can't top that... sorry Ultimecia.

Here are my two nominations.
Vergil, Devil May Cry series
Albedo, Xenosaga series
Why Vergil?
He's a half-demon son of Sparda, but that's an obvious card to play. He's devious, he's cold-hearted, he never lets anything get in his way. He can kick a giant demon chimera that's easily five times his size in half. He kills the very people that try to help him, and he refuses to take shit from anybody. Why does he do it? Because he wants to be closer to the memory of his father. The only living family member he has is Dante, and they never see eye-to-eye -- so he decides to pursue his father's power, and thus preserve his memory.
The major reason he's a good villain, though, is that despite all the dickish things he does, he has honor, and a shitload of it. He never lies, he never truly betrays anyone, and he never kills anything unless he truly sees a logical reason behind it. And, in the end, when Dante defeats him, he accepts his defeat honorably.
Why Albedo?
He's fuckin' nuts. Easily the best truly insane villain I've seen in a long time. Crispin Freeman does a fantastic job as his voice actor in portraying his lust for power and his insanity. Beyond that, he cuts off his own head and grows it back. Tell me that's not a "holy shit" moment. And when you finally realize just why he does the things that he does, it's more than a little disturbing -- not your typical villain motive at all. (I won't say it, in case anyone hasn't played the game, plans to, or hasn't figured it out)
