Here's the bank split thread that was public. Apparently the bank thing was a red herring; they knew it all along but wouldn't share the balance (?). Why was it a secret? edeasorphans.proboards.com/thread/1565/Just to dispel any rumors while trying to be nonpartisan. It was already a known truth that Imoh and Aerya were going to leave the LS soon. The only unanswered question was "when." It wasn't directly stated in this "SHSY2" thread that Imoh speaks of, but I'll say it now. There was no way most of the SH were going to share the LS Bank balance with Imoh and Aerya when the SH knew both were leaving way before they ever asked for the balance. This, my friends, is the truth. We knew the balance, so there was no foul play. Some of us just weren't going to share it with Imoh and Aerya. We were just trying to protect the LS. |

It was a combination of the Primary and Secondary sources of drama.
1) "ZOMG You were not good enough at helping me get my items as fast as I wanted
2) You are an ???hole.
Ok, so I believe Beren was the CPA and this story now makes more sense.
Let us apply:
Imoh & Aerya: 1) "ZOMG You were not good enough at helping me get my items as fast as I wanted (tell us the bank balance)"
Beren 2) You are an ???hole. (No bank balance for you!)
Imoh & Aerya: 2) You are an ???hole.
That thread is then 13 pages of 2)
Drama understood. Wasn't that it was a secret, they just ignored answering the question and merely stated 2).

in a later post in that thread, someone says "several weeks before they left, Bale came to me, stating the mistrust Bale/Aerya/Imoh had with Tempus/Markus/Krazi/Miruuk in regards to the LS bank. He asked me if I would leave the shell if he did. They were already considering leaving the shell"

The problem is that the entire story wasn't brought to light. Just the parts of it people thought were "need to know". Which leaves holes that get filled in with incorrect information. Interesting, so I read plenty about this, and just as she said, holes got filled in with incorrect information. Like this: note: Tempus doesn't want to have to take all the effort of doing all the calculations necessarry to provide an accurate figure. He can't log on, look at gil, and say that's what it is. He has to log on and make a whole bunch of subtractions and additions from outstanding pay outs and gil. So before he has to take effort of calculating it, he asks Aerya what the plan is again. Easier for Aerya to say his plan than for Temp to calculate the balance. Once you automate those things and set them up, it is actually easier to look it up than explain what you want to do with it (not that explaining would have been all that difficult). So Beren saying he knew it the whole time made more sense than acting like it was a bunch of effort to calculate. So with Imo's and Aerya's behavior, not revealing the balance from the SH point of view may have made sense. They probably just didn't want them sharing the bank balance with everyone and then getting complaining every time something was bought. I bet they were testing the waters seeing how they would react during the discussions, and cared more about their reaction than anything else. Regardless of how the SH would have handled it, once a fellow SH went up to Alanthiana and asked her to leave, game over. Drama Torma was coming out and a bunch of people were leaving, regardless of the balance or if it was known by everyone. |

So I shut down the eternaldarknessls.com website after 15 years (it expires in 5 days). In doing so I downloaded everything local, including the SQL databases that ran the forums. I thought I'd review some of the posts for the hell of it. The most notable thing was the drama. Oh my god, all the drama toramas in the junior shell.
This person is being too bossy. This person isn't helping me. You made this person an officer but not me. This person is arguing with another person and I don't like it. This person talks too much in LS chat. If this person isn't kicked I'm starting my own shell. You kicked this person so I am leaving. This person is pretending to be a girl. Blah blah blah blah.... That's really on me for making the decision to hand out pearls to random people. And we handed out a lot.
Lots of good times too, but damn, what a bitch. I guess EO rose from the ashes of that junior shell, so it was worth it!
