Yay. This game is finally entering into Beta!! Hopefully this means 1-3 months before release.

I was really excited to hear the game's initial announcement. I was really, really into Starcraft through high-school, and had been waiting for the day they finally announced its inevitable sequel (hey, I waited 13 years for Mother 3.)
Then, one by one, each press release they used to show the game off started to push me away. Here's hoping that they can get around the forced integration into the "online experience," third-party map licensing, single-race exclusive campaign, even greater focus on micromanaging your economy, and lack of any major innovations that have been included in recent RTS games (like automated unit production/transportation or dynamic battle views ala Supreme Commander.)
I have no doubts that it will be an enjoyable multiplayer experience, or that it will be lacking polish. It's a Blizzard game. I just have doubts at this point that it's a game that was worth waiting more than ten years for.

I try to not even think on future titles really. At least try not to get too far a head of myself. I try to not even get too excited when I hear about a game that I might want in early dev. As you never know if it might get canceled or the company might got under before release. However once it gets to the point of where you can start to think of beta's an demo's that's when I start to get excited!

That's where I am now, X. I don't generally build myself up for games with a lot of hype. FFXI was the last game I really felt hyped about, but Champions Online was probably close. I was devastated by how committed Cryptic was to running that game into the ground by any means necessary. Never again... never again. lol
Really, just seeing the game in a functional state would probably be enough to set my mind at ease about it being a good multiplayer game, but no matter what they do, I think, it's going to be impossible to recapture the essence of Starcraft. It was a fluke, a one-shot deal. I can almost gaurentee you that Starcraft II's playerbase will not still be increasing 5 years from now.

Been watching this guy play and SCII looks pretty damn great... Not that I was ever very good at SC... But still, looks like a blast.

Yeah I was never all that great at SC either. Though I did have a lot of fun playing it. Just playing with friends though. Not with random players.(hates rushes)

This is out as of yesterday...
I keep crashing though -.- Black screen and buzzing speakers. I think it's an overheating issue again. I had the same issue with WoW. Iirc it resolved itself though >.> *shrug* Game looks sweet though, from what I've seen.

Great game.
The campaign mode has a great story and entertaining cut scenes. A little too much country music for me but w/e. I wonder why game makers think that only country music would survive a world war or a nuclear fallout.? Anyways >.>
The game has achievements for campaign and online play; very cool imo. Real ID works across all Blizzard games (I assume). I even had to make a decision once. Help the hot scientist chick and save the refugees OR help my old friends the Protoss cleanse the colony of any possible zerg infestation. You can play on casual and just blow through the game and back track for any missed achievements or to finish it on brutal.
I've never waited more than a minute for an online game and the competition has been decent so far. Seems like many of us are newbs so I boast a 3-1 record iirc ^^
Worth the money.

i finished it on hard.
brutal is just brutal. certain missions would just be a crazy crawling save fest and well, just brutal.
if you get tired of campaign, i recommend the single player challenges. there are 9 of them and they're great for teaching you counters and basic gameplay for online pwning noobs.

I always laugh when I look at the one achievement for All In on hard and you can only use the artifact once. I went through the campaign the first time on casual just to see the story and I had to use it like 3 times >.>.
If you want to own me (I'm a nub although I do like playing 2v2 more the 1v1) Morbiddeed is my ID.

The Train Mission is pwning me but I'm too hardheaded to lower the difficulty lol
