There are pve / pvp servers. You'll probably get the high level ganking moreso in AoC b/c you frequently run through the low level areas for other stuff. Though when I played it was more same level or +5-10 level attacking you. Play the right class and you can survive/kill the +10's lol.

Anyways, the battle system is very unique and refreshing which is why I like to play it every once in a while. They added a lot of stuff since I played @ release but it's still buggy. Graphics are more stable now, though I keep getting corrupted files every time I shut off the game ><

They've been doing some heavy-HEAVY class balancing through nerfs since release. Just recently they nerfed 2 classes spell damage by something like 25% lol. Game is nowhere near complete yet but it's getting there.

A big - for me though... they still havent implemented a way to bind keys to the mouse >.>

You know... I failed reading comprehension and saw "DAoC" for some reason.

I never actually played AoC, since I generally won't even look at a launch MMO title until the dust settles a bit and we get to see what kind of game it really is. I did take a look at signing up for a two week free trial the other day though, to see what kind of improvements had been made to it and give me something to do...

...Turns out they actually locked out two-week trials so as not to "impact the experience of players returning to the game as part of the return program."

Right.

LOL @ the horse video. I've done that and had it done to me, was like wtf the first time.

AoC is more orientated towards PvP'ers atm. PvE players are not going to find enough here to sustain them for much longer than a month. They do copy some of WoW's Ideas, mainly the UI and quest notification system. But the combat system is 100% unique and a lot of fun.

They do try to improve on things WoW has done making the game a unique overall experience. I didnt once feel like I was playing a WoW clone even though there were similar things in AoC.

Now... It's not all praise for this game. There are still a shot-ton of bugs and things that need to be fixed. But they have came a long way since launch, and if they survive another year or so they'll have something golden.

Oh and I forgot to mention...

You can make gigantic guild town/castle cities complete with crafting buffs and HOOOOOKERS!

I hear only kids who seem to be intrigued by all the blood play this game. The story is craptastic and the game has a ton of bugs/imbalances, but thats just what I hear lol, never even tried it so I wouldn't know.

BTW, that horse video is funny shit.

Anyone who isnt intrigued by blood and gore in entertainment is a liar or a wuus. Plain and simple. =P A lot of immature 12 year olds play mmo's (most of them are alliance).

A lot of the people who bad mouth the game played for the first few weeks and never looked back. It's come a long way since then... I touched on that in my previous posts.
