Good times, good times! I don't remember what kicked off that argument (most likely me being a dumb turd haha) but yeah that thread is chalk full of nostalgia.

Don't know why but I was bored on a dreary, rainy Sunday afternoon and decided to look through some of my old history on the forum. I found this thread which was a hilarious reminder of the good times we had back then. Only thing missing are the pictures that were linked in the thread which added a lot of humour to it- hope everyone is doing well and kicking ass at life! Check it out here!

I just wanted to say that I had a great time playing with you guys. Even though it was a brief moment of time I do, still, look back fondly on the memories that I forged playing with all of you. I appreciate the 10 year recap that Jon has written and Lockejv provided some great back-story to how things got a start. I hope all of you are doing well and having fun in whatever adventures you go on next!

I plan on playing 14, probably pretty casually but I'd love to play with some old EO friends.

I think Tyler Farrah has a good chance at points. I was really suprised at how well he did during the prologue and I think he is better in the hills then cavendish. Of course you always got old Thor there. I'd like to see Farrah take the points but I have a feeling Thor is gonna get it.
I don't know why I do this but I always kind of lump mountain in with GC and don't pay to much attention to the individual Mountain. I've always kind of wished that Evans would do better but it seems like every year things go wrong for him and they already have this year. He already lost a good domestique. I also like Christian Vande Velde but he must of had a terrible prologue and was down at 98th which surprised me same with the Schlecks but all that will shake out once this hit the hills- I can't wait! Of course its all gonna change once they hit the mountains and I'm really looking forward to the Pyerenes this year its gonna be epic. Who knows maybe Basso can pull a rabbit out of his hat too
I want to see Hincapie win a stage. Remember last year when astana pushed the pace and kinda of screwed him out of that stage win. I never seen him angry like that. He was pretty pissed.

That makes sense, it was really hard to tell because the only footage I saw was from the helicopter and there was no way you could see what was going on down there.
So what are your predictions for points/mountain and GC?

anyway back to tour talk. Usually these first few stages are kind of boring aside from the sprints- I can't believe all the crashes today. It seemed like there were a ton. I didn't stick around to hear the follow up and haven't got a chance to check the recap but did anybody get seriously hurt by that pile up before the finish? It didn't look like it but kind of hard to tell..... and WTH was with the crash on the right bend coming into the finial straight away??? it looked like the guy just decided to lean into the rider on his left and pushed him into the wall and caused that first crash that caught Cavendish.

I really didn't even entertain the idea until I saw this video with a working model. I still don't think it happened but its amazing that they came up with this thing. (the hand gestures he made were odd and him pulling away seated in the saddle like that was impressive) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Nd13ARuvVE&feature=related

I agree man totally. They've tried to curb the doping and all it has done is create scandals that nearly tore the sport apart. I think Armstrong doped personally and it'd be funny if they caught him.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing about the "Mechanical doping" with Cancellera in Paris-Roubix. I'm sure you heard about that right?
nice bike btw, Its a lot more of a roadie then mine, My bike is steel frame with 2 steel racks and feels about as heavy as a mountain bike lol.

AWESOME, me too. Its become a very valuable outlet for me over the last year or so and i've always kind of paid attention to the grand tours .here is a pic of my love Its a surly long haul trucker. The picture was from last year- right now I got a rack on the front and rear and have done a little bit of local touring. You know now that you mention it I don't think i saw Tom boonen. Yeah he is a great sprinter. I like George Hincapie a lot he is a real class act but Jan Ullrich was always my favourite haha- the eternal 2nd

You see that huge pile up under 3k today? Cavendish went down in that first one in the right hand bend and then another pile up happened a bit closer that caught Farrah so you really didn't see the big name sprinters take the points for the green.
It was nuts. I'm thinking that contador is gonna take it, he is just a shear physical beast but his lack of experience could play a part in some stages.
The schleck brothers are pretty cool but they a terrible prologue this year though. You see the preview for the Pyrenees? looks brutal- can't wait.
