For those who don't know what PAX is, it's a gaming / table top / CCG expo, organized by the Penny Arcade Web-Comic. It started small a few years ago, and now it's freaking huge. It was held at the Seattle Convention Center (Aug 24-Aug 26). I made the trip out, and here are my pics.
It was huge, I couldn't believe how many people were there. The convention center wasn't big enough. They had World Maps throughout to help you get around.
Here's the line, waiting to get to the exhibit hall on Friday, the first day.
I was expecting a typical convention exhibit hall, with a bunch of vendors selling stuff I could just find cheaper on eBay. I was....wrong!
All the big players were there in full form. Sony, Nintendo, THQ, Rockstar, and on and on...
Ubisoft was there, the creative designer did a hands on demo of Assassin's Creed. Looked amazing, can't wait to get it!
I'm no longer much of an arcade gamer, but when I do go I stay away from the DDR games (lawl) and play the Fast and Furious driving game. The new one, based on Tokyo Drift, was at the expo. It's distributed in the US by a company named Betson, and they had it at their booth. The game manufacturer I used to work for (ICE) does a ton of business with them - I talked to the guy working the booth and we knew a lot of the same people. Kinda tempted to get back in the industry professionally. Might make my 9-5 a little less boring. Or maybe even enjoyable.
I played Tokyo Drift quite a bit, think I went 25-1 or so, and I even beat one of the guys who worked for Betson. Very sweet game - I wonder if it's anywhere in Buffalo yet.

LOTR online. I can definitely say I won't be playing
RockStar didn't have any GTA4 stuff (the game I'm dying for), but they were pushing their new Midnight Club racing game.
Here's a pic of the game being played in the theater they had set up:
Blizzard was not there, but the WoW table top and CCG stuff was:
This is gonna do it for now, I have videos from the concerts and more pictures I'll post up later.
