Lol. What am I doing and thanks for lining me up before you snapped the pic! I don't remember what we were doing...oh wait, I think that's when we tried to farm Tornado for you or something. Dragonbane wandered up there and I figured it'd be the last chance to grab a screen shot with the original ED officers (minus Evona). Tempus did throw on an ITV pearl so we were all wearing black but I dunno where that one is stored online.

It's gotta be in my top 5 favorite FFXI screen shots, so hilarious that you walked into that pic. All it's missing is Dukes.

I've been going through serious withdrawels lately... they released a lot of new stuff I was just getting into when I quit abruptly.
I wish I could at least find my old screenshots. Maybe it would remind me why I left.
...Also, I don't think I've ever seen a screenshot where Locke wasn't wearing his AF pants...

Back in the day, I wore my Rogue's Culotte often because leg armor itemization for THF was absolutely horrible. If Dusk Trousers didn't have the movement penalty I would have worn those. The only other options with beneficial stats were Tarick's subligar, and they looked so stupid it wasn't worth the +5 attack to me.
When I picked up the Raven Hose (early 2006 I think) I wore those around mostly. Always wore them in Dynamis for the evasion bonus (+6).
The leg armor I wanted was Homam Cosciales (3% Haste, Fast Cast), but those weren't attainable because limbus attendance was poor.
For TP gain, I would alternate between Dusk Trousers (+14 attack) and Bravo Subligar (2% Haste), but it depended on the camp. If we were roaming, I didn't like using Dusk because I would lose several rounds of attack due to the movement penalty. Yeah I could have equipment swapped, but I did enough of that as it was. The Bravo Subligar looked exactly like the basic pants you have on when you're not wearing any. So I had to deal with "why aren't you wearing pants?"
For WS I used Dragon Subligar (which looked horrible) or Dusk Trousers.
Three ideal TP gain pieces (none of which were attainable for me):
Barbarossa's Zerehs: 3% Haste, +4 STR Homam Cosciales: 3% Haste, Fast Cast Skadi's Chausses: 2% Haste, +7 Store TP, +4/5 acc/att/etc
And of course the uber WS legs which dropped off Nidhogg: Hecatomb Subligar: +20 att, +8 DEX

Your THF actually looks identical to the THF I played... I only made it to 55 though. When I got trick attack and it was a total disappointment, I quit.

Your THF actually looks identical to the THF I played... I only made it to 55 though. When I got trick attack and it was a total disappointment, I quit. At 33 with Sneak, Trick, and Viper Bite, THF became the premiere DD when parties set up properly. The job didn't scale as you leveled though, and in the 50's became pretty weak. I had a rough time with invites in the 50's, but things got better (for awhile) after 60 with Dancing Edge. They gave THF a level 60 job ability called Assassin, which makes Trick Attack a guaranteed critical hit - so it works just like Sneak Attack. They also buffed the hell out of base dagger damage at level 68 and up, which helped a ton. Also, merits help THF too - you can add an extra 5% proc rate to Triple Attack; with a low delay offhand you really never stop swinging. They changed the game mechanics again after I quit, gave two handed weapon users such as DRK, DRG and SAM a big buff. I don't know how that has impacted THF's role as an effective damage dealer.

Haha, I just realized my typo. I meant that I didn't like triple attack, not trick attack. Oops.

Haha, I just realized my typo. I meant that I didn't like triple attack, not trick attack. Oops. Yeah, the 5% base rate, or one every 20 swings, isn't all that great. But with the merits (+5%), the Brutal Earring (+5% double attack), and the Homam Corazza (Enhances 'Triple Attack' Effect +2.5%), THF becomes quite the machine.

Yeah, I think the reason I found it to be useless when I got it at 55 was because my dagger normal hits didn't do much damage at all, in fact if I recall correctly, almost all my damage was coming from abilities like SA/TA/Insert Weaponskill

Yeah, I think the reason I found it to be useless when I got it at 55 was because my dagger normal hits didn't do much damage at all, in fact if I recall correctly, almost all my damage was coming from abilities like SA/TA/Insert Weaponskill Yeah, the problem was experience parties overcamped, going after IT and higher mobs, and a lot of times it was mobs like Crabs that had high defense. So you had a THF pounding away with a 20 damage dagger getting penalized because his attack was too low, hitting for 10-15 damage and such. And there was no accuracy food either, which made matters much worse. SATA / Viper Bite still did awesome damage because it doubled your attack and was a guaranteed critical. Fighting lower level mobs for 100-150 xp per kill was much more efficient. And if you had a Bard, the problem was you'd run out of mobs to kill. They tried to fix it with the expansion, but the new camps were usually overcrowded, and you'd spend more time trying to claim mobs than killing stuff. SE did it wrong in so many ways.
